Over the many years of playing football I have visited so many physio s and osteopaths with various injuries. I have to say Lisa is one of the best. Her ability to diagnose and treat both on the spot at game time or in subsequent treatments is second to none. She has treated and rejuvenated many of the England Veterans players and I would wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone!

I cannot recommend Bowdens Sports Therapy highly enough. Football has been a huge part of my life for many years, including playing for the England Veterans team. Over time, injuries began to affect my game, particularly my ability to play confidently with both feet, something that meant a great deal to me.

I had seen several physiotherapists and consultants over the years without much improvement, so I had almost accepted that this was something I would just have to live with. However, after just three sessions with Bowdens Sports Therapy, I was able to play freely again using both feet. The difference was incredible.

Being able to return to the game pain-free and focus on football rather than the injury has meant everything to me. The knowledge, treatment, and genuine care provided have truly given me back something that is a huge part of who I am.

If you are struggling with an injury or feel like you have run out of options, I would strongly recommend Bowdens Sports Therapy. The results speak for themselves.

Proud to have been at the Birmingham FA ground supporting Nunnery Wood Over 50’s today in their match against FC Premier Vets.

Nunnery started strong and were leading in the first half, showing great teamwork, determination, and spirit. Unfortunately, the second half proved challenging after injuries left the team without substitutes and playing two players down. Despite this setback, the remaining players gave everything on the pitch and continued to battle until the final whistle.

Wishing George and Marc a speedy recovery after treatment, both showed real resilience and commitment to the team.

Results don’t always reflect the heart shown on the day. It was a privilege to support such a dedicated group of players who demonstrated true sportsmanship and perseverance.

Well played, everyone.

London Marathon Journey, Client Spotlight: Jodie 🏃‍♀️

In 2016, at the age of 29, Jodie ran the London Marathon, fulfilling a lifelong dream to run through her favourite city before turning 30. With very little training, she crossed the finish line in 5:48:59, earned her medal… and stopped running.

Fast forward 10 years, and she’s back.

After getting back into running over the past couple of years, Jodie realised a decade had passed and made a powerful decision, 2026 would be the year she returned to London Marathon, stronger and better prepared.

This time, she’s doing things differently.

She’s following a structured training plan and working with me to make sure her body is ready for the increasing mileage ahead.

During our first session, we focused on:

Releasing muscular tension from training
Preparing her legs for the demands of the London route
Reducing the risk of shin splints (which affected her last time)
Managing training load and recovery
Discussing nutrition, stretching, strength work and race-day preparation

As the miles ramp up over the next 9 weeks, we’ll continue working together to keep her strong, injury-free and confident going into race day.

Jodie is feeling positive, focused, and determined, and I’m proud to be part of her journey.

We’ll be sharing updates along the way as she prepares to take on London Marathon 2026. 🏅

You’ve got this, Jodie.

A strong run-out for the England Veterans Over 55’s today against a well-organised Droitwich side, who came away with a 3–0 win. Both teams played in great spirit, and it was a valuable opportunity to give minutes to new call-ups and players stepping up into the age group.

Well done to all the trialists and those integrating into the 55’s squad, plenty of positives to take forward. ⚽️

A proud moment to support the England Over 55s last weekend at Bracknell Park in their match against the Republic of Ireland 🤍

An outstanding performance from both teams, with England securing a 7–1 victory. The standard of play, commitment, and sportsmanship on display made it a memorable occasion, especially as this was the first match against the Republic of Ireland.

From a therapy perspective, the game was managed well physically. The 4G surface resulted in a few superficial abrasions and minor cuts to the knees, but no significant injuries were sustained.

Pre- and post-match treatment focused on preparation, recovery, and overall musculoskeletal wellbeing to help keep players match fit and comfortable following a high-intensity game.

It is always a privilege to support athletes who continue to perform at such a high level and represent the game with pride.

Looking forward to the next match on Sunday.

Outstanding performance from the England 55s in their match against Wales

A brilliant game played by both sides, with England securing a 2–0 win. The team showed great determination, teamwork, and spirit throughout.

Most importantly, no serious injuries, always the best outcome after such a competitive match.

It’s a privilege to support a group of players who continue to perform at such a high level and represent the game with pride.

Well done to everyone involved.
