As an equine massage therapist, you’re a key player in every horse’s wellbeing team. Here’s a little bit about how each role supports the horse, starting with yours!

🔹 Equine Massage Therapist
Works hands on with the soft tissues to release tension, improve circulation, enhance performance, and promote relaxation. Regular massage can prevent injury, support recovery, and help horses move and feel their best. A vital tool in both routine maintenance and rehab!

🔹 Equine Chiropractor (or McTimoney Practitioner)
Focuses on joint alignment and spinal health. Uses precise adjustments to restore mobility, relieve pressure, and support the nervous system.

🔹 Equine Osteopath
Looks at the horse as a whole. Uses gentle manipulation, fascia release, and mobilisation to improve biomechanics, fluid motion, and systemic balance.

So after over a week recovering I’m slowly starting back with the massage doing what I can!

I’ve done a nasty ligament sprain on my “good ankle” from rolling it while walking on even ground 🤦🏼‍♀️ so those booked in for the next couple of weeks I’ll be in touch to move you 🤞🏻

Top tip Tuesday!

Stretching!

Ensure your horse is stood square for best results.

Begin by asking for a gentle stretch before increasing and deepening the stretch. Should your horse struggle that’s okay relax and repeat!

Stretches should be done when the muscles are warm after exercise - cold muscles injure easily!

If your horse gets bitey or rushes use a lick instead of carrots/treats to hold their attention longer!
