Hi, I’m Mary Ann. I’m profoundly Deaf, I use British Sign Language (BSL), and I’m proudly AuDHD ❤️ Recently married, a mum of three, a nail tech and someone who’s finally stepping into her dream. When I was younger, I always wanted to work in beauty but fear, barriers, and lack of confidence held me back. A lot has changed. Technology and social media have opened new doors, and I’ve grown in self-awareness. I now know what I want and what’s best for me. Two years ago, I treated myself to a gel polish appointment. The nail tech offered me something I’d never heard of BIAB. She applied it and I instantly fell in love. That moment changed everything. I knew I wanted to learn this. It hasn’t been easy. Becoming a nail tech is harder than I imagined. But I kept practicing. I kept learning. And with every set, my confidence grew. Now, it’s not just a skill, it’s my passionate. 💅 I specialise in Builder Gel, Hard Gel and Russian manicure prep clean, strong, elegant nails that last. 🫶 I’m here to make beauty accessible, inclusive, and empowering for Deaf, neurodivergent, and hearing women alike. 🐾 Rosie the cat is head of cuddles and calm energy. One year ago, I took my first nail photo and thought 🫣…Sigh, builder gel is bloody hard work. Can I really do this? I knew I had to keep practicing - consistency is key.
Now, looking at this picture, I’ve never felt so proud of myself. Flawless Russian manicure, dual forms improving every week… and I’m still learning. ☺️
I’m still a beginner nail tech, but I’ve come so far.
