We recently completed the Hall Cross Academy/comprehensive/Grammar School Gym refurbishment in Doncaster, for Exceed Learning Partnership, working alongside architect, Building Link Design.

This project transformed a former squash court and disused garage into purpose-built school gym.

Project highlights include:

- Combining the old gym, squash courts, and a disused garage to create a single, spacious gym area.

- Installing 9m steel beams and reinforced goal posts to support the concrete roof.

- Laying a concrete engineered slab in the garage area and insulated the entire floor before installing chipboard flooring.

- Constructing fully insulated, plasterboarded, and decorated walls throughout.

- Fitting a new suspended ceiling, upgraded electrics, and installing air conditioning.

- Finishing with purpose-built gym flooring, ready for equipment and active use.

It was rewarding to create this modern gym space for Hall Cross School, supporting their students in physical development.

Last year, we completed the refurbishment and reconfiguration works at the Unipart Rail site, Trax Park, Doncaster.

As main contractor and project manager, PS Construction took the project from initial strip-out through to the final stages of fit-out.

- Working to the design of Jefferson Sheard Architects, we created new offices, meeting rooms, sanitary spaces, and open-plan work areas, alongside upgrades to fire safety systems and lighting.

- Outside, we set out new line marking and adjusted the layout to make routes clearer.

- We also created additional parking for staff, visitors, and larger vehicles, helping the site run more smoothly day to day.

With the refurbishment complete, the updated offices and workshops now give Unipart Rail the spaces and systems they need to carry out operations.

Project Complete - Residential Renovation - Doncaster

Today we’re looking back at the full renovation and extension of a residential property in Doncaster, which we delivered in collaboration with Building Link Design.

The project involved extending both sides and the rear of the original building to significantly increase its size, along with a full transformation of the surrounding grounds.

A new driveway was added to the front, landscaped gardens at the back, and a large fishpond to complete the outdoor space.

Every part of the build was tailored to the client’s exact specifications - delivered with minimal compromise over an 18-month programme.

We’re also proud to have won an LABC Building Excellence Award for this project, a testament to the hard work and commitment by everyone involved.

Project Spotlight: Hill House Sports Pavilion

This new, state-of-the-art sports changing room and pavilion for Hill House School in Doncaster was designed to enhance the school’s sporting facilities.

Working in collaboration with Building Link Design we delivered this modern pavilion and large onsite parking to a strict deadline whilst allowing the existing facilities to still be used.
