🚨 PRODUCT ALERT — PLEASE READ! 🚨

Why it’s so important to tell your stylist about ANY new products you’ve been using on your hair! This is especially important when using products that lighten the hair, such as John Frieda Go Blonder Lightening Spray and similar products.

We had a situation in the salon today where, thankfully, during a thorough consultation, a client mentioned that she had been using this product. That immediately made me stop and ask for a strand test before carrying out any colour work. We explained to the client what could potentially happen, and after waiting just 10 minutes, the result was clear… the hair snapped as soon as it was touched.

These products change the hair, and when colour is applied afterwards, it causes a chemical reaction that causes the hair to snap.

🙏 PLEASE, PLEASE always be honest with your stylist about everything you have used on your hair — even products you may not think are important.
Your stylist isn’t asking to judge you; we’re asking to protect your hair! 💙
A thorough consultation and strand test can make all the difference and, in this case, helped prevent what could have been devastating damage.

🚨 A Message to Our Valued Clients 🚨

We need to have an honest conversation.

Like many small businesses, we're navigating an already challenging economic climate. We love what we do, and we're incredibly grateful for every client who chooses our salon. However, we need your help.

When you book an appointment, we ask that you take responsibility for attending on the correct day and at the correct time. While we send text reminders as a courtesy, they should not be relied upon, as we have no control over whether they are received.

Recently, we've experienced a significant increase in no-shows and last-minute cancellations. This has a serious impact on our business. If we don't have clients in the chair, we don't get paid. It also means we've turned away other clients who were waiting for those appointment times.

Our no-show and cancellation policy has always been the same. It is explained from your very first appointment and is in place to protect both the business and our team. This means that no-shows and on-the-day cancellations are charged at 100% of the appointment cost. Unfortunately, we've seen increasing pushback when the policy is enforced simply because it doesn't suit the situation.

We want to be clear: expecting a member of our team to come to work, reserve their time for your appointment, and then not be paid because you didn't attend is simply not fair. We hope you can understand why we have to stand by our policy.

We appreciate that emergencies and genuine unforeseen circumstances do happen, and we will always approach those situations with understanding. However, repeated no-shows and late cancellations are something we can no longer absorb.

Thank you to the many clients who respect our time, arrive as booked, and support our small business. Your loyalty and understanding mean more than you know.
