If I had to build my beauty business from scratch tomorrow, these are the 5 things I would focus on first…

Not a fancy website.

I would show up on social media consistently and make sure people knew who I was, what I do and how I can help.

People don’t book because you exist.
They book because they know, like and trust you.

✨ 2. Speak directly to potential clients.

Not just post available appointments every day.

I’d start conversations, answer questions and build relationships.

Social media is supposed to be social.

✨ 3. Focus on the client experience.

The treatment matters, but how you make someone feel matters even more.

From the booking process to the treatment itself, every part of the journey should feel special.

✨ 4. Ask for reviews.

Most clients are happy to leave a review, but many simply need to be asked.

Reviews build trust, confidence and help future clients choose you.

✨ 5. Stay consistent, especially when it’s quiet.

This is where most beauty businesses lose momentum.

They stop posting because they’re quiet.

They stop marketing because they’re quiet.

They stop showing up because they’re quiet.

But consistency is what creates growth.

After 20 years in the beauty industry, these are the things that have made the biggest difference to my business.
