Floral MacDonald

I've been branching out a little recently and had a wee go at weaving. This wall hanging measures approximately 10 inches by 30 inches, minus hanging ribbon, and incorporates yarn, merino roving, fringe, ribbon and organza. It was a lot of fun to do and I'm already itching to warp the loom again :)

There's going to be a few Floral MacDonald hand felted scarves available in the Dunfermline Athletic Supporters Club shop next week. Made in merino wool and silk, each scarf measures approximately 50" long by 4" wide. This colourway will be exclusive to the DASC shop.

I just finished a custom order of mini table centrepieces for a golden wedding party. I love the way the crocheted roses sit on top of the glass dishes - every time I look at the pictures I want an ice cream sundae :)

I've been busy felting over the last few days. These lilies have wired stems, which can be left straight or curled, and blooms measure approximately 6" across. They're hand felted from merino wool and will be on sale in Miss Pauley's Craft Centre later this week.

Kids' clubs are great for giving me time to get wee bits done. This time it was my daughter's climbing club - 90 minutes to sit with a cuppa and finish off more roses. Just waiting on more brooch pins arriving, and these will be ready to go.

Waiting for my wee man to finish football training - decided to keep myself occupied with a bit more crochet :)

I've been working on more crocheted roses using these yarns. I love the mix of fibres and texture - smooth, shiny cotton and bamboo, soft wools and acrylics, and luxurious silk and mohair. Some have added bling in the form of metallic threads and iridescent sequins, and others let the yarn shine all on its own. Looking forward to seeing a bunch of these finished :)

A vase of tropical lilies to brighten up this dreary day :)

Today is a lily day. I love working with merino - it felts beautifully and the ragged, cobweb edges really let the structure of the fibre shine through. Plus I have so many shades to play with that I could make these all day and not repeat a single colour combo :)
