One whole year of owning a coffee shop⦠which still feels slightly mad to say!š„¹
Like most things Iāve done, I definitely didnāt go into it knowing exactly what I was doing. There have been things Iāve learnt the easy way, plenty Iāve learnt the hard way and probably a few things Iām still figuring out now.
But looking back at what Brewed has become over the last year makes me really proud!
Not just because of the business itself, but because of the people, the community and all the little moments that have happened inside those four walls along the way.
Sometimes when youāre so busy living it, you donāt really stop to realise how far something has come.
So happy first birthday Brewedš„³š„³
What a bloody year itās been, and what a lovely little thing weāve builtš¤š«¶š¼

WE MADE IT š
Six weeks. Approximately 4,762 snacks. āIām boredā on repeat. A house that has never stayed tidy for longer than 11 minutes and absolutely no idea what day of the week it is.
The summer holidays are DONE! Hahahš¤£
A special shoutout to every parent who has been juggling work, kids, childcare, appointments, days out, keeping everyone fed, breaking up arguments and attempting to create summer memories⦠while internally counting down the days until Septemberš
Whether you smashed the summer holidays or simply kept everyone alive⦠I think we can all agree youāve done enough.
WE SURVIVED š«”š¤£š¤
I think we give people far too much credit for knowing what theyāre doing š
Most people you look at now and think ātheyāve got it all figured outā probably started with absolutely no idea what they were doing... I know I did.
There have been so many things in my life I couldāve talked myself out of because I didnāt feel ready, qualified enough or confident enough... But I started anyway.
Then I learnt. Got things wrong. Changed my mind. Tried again. Asked for help. Figured a bit more out and somewhere along the way, the things that once felt completely out of my depth just became things I knew how to do!
You donāt need to have the whole plan before you take the first step... Sometimes the first step is how you find the plan. If you want my advice? Just start. You can figure the rest out as you go!š¤
Reminiscing on this moment a few weeks ago now⦠Honestly couldnāt write it𤣠clearly I like living life on the edge & my kids love to keep me on my toes! Thank god it ended well š š¤
Just a woman living her dreams, big ambitions and the determination to create the life she wants for herself and her familyš¤
Feeling incredibly proud of how far Iāve come, so grateful for the people around me who support, encourage and believe in me and so excited for everything thatās still to comeš«¶š¼
Hereās to dreaming big, backing yourself and building a life that feels like yoursš¤
Itās strange looking back at a version of your life that once felt like it was never going to end!
At the time, I donāt think I fully realised just how much everything I was going through was affecting me. Mentally, emotionally and eventually.. physically too.
My hair falling out was one of the ways my body showed me just how much I was carryingš©
But I think thatās also why I can look back now and talk about these things from a completely different place.
Because life moved on. I moved on. Things changedšŖš¤
Not overnight, and definitely not in a perfectly straight line, but they did!!!
And I think sometimes when youāre right in the middle of a difficult chapter, itās almost impossible to imagine a life outside of it.
There are parts of my life now that the version of me back then couldnāt have even imagined and Iām really bloody glad she kept goingš«”
So maybe this is your little reminder that how life feels right now isnāt necessarily how life will feel foreverš¤
POV: the ADHD has finally decided the living room needs sorting⦠Unfortunately, I was not consulted in this decision š
Things I would rather be doing than cleaning the living room: literally anything.
One minute Iām moving a few things around, the next the entire contents of the room are on the floor because apparently it has to get MUCH worse before it gets better.
Some people call cleaning therapy⦠I am not some people š
Do I enjoy it? Absolutely not. Was I ridiculously pleased with myself when it got done? Obviously ššŖļø
āOnly look back to see how far youāve comeāš„¹
I just had to jump on this trend! WOW 9 months ago our renovations started on this huge, rundown, unused building and I truly canāt believe what has been achieved in just 9 MONTHS! Weāve had an incredible group of people working their absolute socks of every single day to bring the vision of the empowered collective alive & I truly canāt put into words how much I appreciate everything!
Itās not been plain sailing by any means, weāve learnt a lot along the way but the one thing that has been unwavering is the passion and desire to see the building come to life.. a whole new coffee shop, salon, rental space for independent beauticians/aesthetics and a whole unit out back for community use - with everything from fitness to childrenās imaginative playš
