Permanent makeup myth vs truth 🌸
Taking care of your lips after a lip blush treatment is just as important as the procedure itself. Proper aftercare ensures the best possible healed result and helps your colour last longer.
For the first 7–10 days:
Keep your lips clean and dry — avoid getting them wet where possible
Apply the aftercare balm provided by your artist regularly to keep the area moisturised
Avoid picking or peeling any flaking skin — let it shed naturally
Avoid oily, spicy or heavily seasoned food as this can affect pigment retention
No lipstick, lip liner or any other lip products until fully healed
Avoid sun exposure, saunas, steam rooms and swimming
Things to avoid long term to protect your results:
Prolonged sun exposure without SPF on the lips
Harsh skincare products or chemical peels near the lip area
Smoking, as this can cause pigment to fade faster
A little patience during the healing process goes a long way. Your lips will go through several stages — including a ghost phase where the colour appears to almost disappear — before the true healed result reveals itself at around 4–6 weeks.
