We went for a look that would look beautiful both in person and under the lights & camera – defined eyes, fresh skin and a deep neutral pink lip 💋

I also got to see the finished look in action! Sue looked fabulous presenting on stage, and even managed to grab a photo with Rory Bremner, who was a special guest at the ceremony.

I'm looking for Black African/Black Caribbean makeup models to sit for my professional MUA training course in Edinburgh 🎨

No modelling experience is needed - I'm simply looking for a real face and lovely peep who would enjoy being pampered whilst helping trainee artists develop their skills under professional guidance.

You'll receive a complimentary professional makeup application, pick up a few pro beauty tips, and receive a fixed session fee as a thank you for your time.

From fresh and natural to effortlessly evening ✨

Ashlie came to me wanting to learn how to create a day-to-evening makeup look that she could adapt herself - with one important requirement: a beautiful complexion that felt light, natural and comfortable on the skin.

She really doesn’t like the heavy, cakey feeling that can comes with full coverage, so our focus was on creating a fresh, dewy base that still looked like skin, whilst giving her enough coverage and polish to take the look from daytime into evening.

For her complexion, we chose MAC Cosmetics Face & Body Foundation. It’s one of my favourites for achieving that lightweight, radiant, skin-like finish - allowing the natural dimension of the skin to show through rather than masking it under layers of foundation.

We then worked on bringing out Ashlie’s gorgeous hazel eyes, using soft pink-mauve tones and liner to enhance the beautiful olive green within them. This is why I love colour theory - it really makes those natural eye colours pop! 💚

And can we take a moment to appreciate that absolutely naturally gorgeous hair?! 😍

🖌️ From day to evening - and everything in between…

Becky came to me wanting to achieve two things: learn how to take her make-up from daytime into evening, and invest in some professional-quality brushes that would make applying her make-up easier and more precise.

So, rather than treating these as two separate appointments, we combined both lessons into one personalised session.

We focused on creating dimension and structure with her complexion products - learning where to add definition, warmth and subtle sculpting so her skin still looked beautifully natural.

And then we turned our attention to those gorgeous green eyes 💚

A soft pink-mauve eye look with beautifully defined liner was the perfect way to make them stand out, while still feeling wearable and very much her.

By the end of the lesson, Becky had worked through all of her goals - from complexion and face shape to eye definition, brush technique and taking her look from day to evening.

And she accomplished every one of them with great aplomb! 👏

I love lessons like this because it isn't about simply showing someone what products to use. It's about giving them the techniques, understanding and confidence to recreate the look for themselves.

From makeup lesson to special occasion glam ✨

It was so lovely to welcome Bev back after her makeup lesson - this time for a little special occasion makeup before a very special lunch date 🤍

Having already worked together on her makeup routine, we knew exactly what suited Bev and what she felt comfortable wearing.

For this occasion, we wanted to make her piercing blue eyes really pop, so we chose a palette of warm golds and rich browns to create a gorgeous contrast against her eye colour. Completing the look with soft, wispy lashes.

Softly defined, warm and luminous on the eyes, paired with a beautiful berry-red lip for a touch of sophistication 💋

The result was polished and elegant, but still completely Bev - just a little more glam for a special occasion.

The makeup should work with you, not against you, taking into account your colouring, features and the way you like to look and feel.

Karen’s brief: “Really natural, nothing too heavy.”

Karen came to her mother & daughter makeup lesson knowing exactly what she didn't want.

Nothing heavy. Nothing that felt like too much makeup.

She also wanted help with something I hear so often from clients:
“I’m struggling to know what products and brands are best for my skin.”

So rather than simply applying makeup for her, we talked through what would work for her skin, why certain products and textures would be better choices and how to apply everything, so it still looked natural.

The final look?
Fresh, softly defined and polished - Karen, but with her natural features enhanced rather than hidden.

And because this was a lesson, Karen went away with more than just a finished makeup look - she had the knowledge and techniques to recreate it herself.

After their mother & daughter makeup lesson, they were ready to head off for a girlie afternoon of shopping at the shopping mall - followed, of course, by ladies’ lunch (it would be rude not to!).

The lovely thing about their lesson was that neither wanted to look overly made up. They simply wanted to look like themselves… just a little more polished.

So, we focused on natural-looking skin, subtle definition and techniques they could easily recreate themselves.

And what makes this even lovelier - the whole experience was booked by Karen’s husband as a Christmas gift for his wife and daughter 🎁

A gift of makeup, confidence and a little mother & daughter time together.

A mother & daughter makeup lesson… and a little bit of Christmas magic 🎁

Eilidh came to me for a makeup lesson with her mum, Karen - a Christmas gift booked by Karen’s husband for them both.

Eilidh’s brief was beautifully simple:
“I want a natural look - like the makeup I already do, but I’d like some guidance on how to make it look better.”

So that's exactly what we did.

Rather than giving Eilidh a completely different makeup look, we worked with the products and techniques she was already comfortable with and added some tweaks to make everything look more polished and put together.

They both decided on a lovely ladies’ lunch look - perfect for the afternoon they had planned together.

And those beautiful lashes are 100% au-naturelle by the way! 🤩

✨ From feeling unsure with makeup… to feeling confident creating a look she loves ✨

It was such a pleasure to welcome Anna for a personalised Daytime Makeup Lesson.

Like many clients I work with, Anna had gradually stopped wearing makeup - not because she didn’t enjoy it, but because she no longer felt confident in her own skills.

Her goal was simple: to learn how to create a soft, clean and natural daytime look that felt like her - something she could confidently recreate at home.

Anna also wanted to revisit one of her old favourites… the classic cat eye eyeliner! A look she loved as a teenager and was excited to bring back in a more modern, wearable way, and appropriate for daywear.

During the lesson we focused on:
