When I first enrolled with The London Institute of Banking and Finance I was reading some content about the mortgage industry and I came across Sarah Tucker and The Mortgage Mum.

It struck a cord with me - that was exactly the vision that I had for myself.

I followed Sarah and the team on social media. It inspired and further motivated me to get qualified. I wanted to be part of this inspiring flexible working environment and community of women supporting one another.

Winter Welfare Checks
Age UK Hertfordshire are supporting people this year with Winter Welfare Checks to help with the cost-of-living impact. This will be primarily for older people, however, anyone who is vulnerable can be referred. They will be delivering this support via its recently launched handyperson services, where one of many handy people can help with the following:

Installation of draught excluders for doors and windows, and letterbox brushes to reduce heat loss
Installation of radiator reflector strips to maximise heat dispersion
The above can help to improve energy efficiency by up to 50%. They can also help to improve energy efficiency for those who may find it difficult with:

Providing energy-efficient bulbs and night lights
Taking a meter reading
Setting heating timings and thermostats
Changing winter curtains
Provide an electric blanket
This service is free of charge as it is fully funded by Hertfordshire County Council and the ICS.
