This is a really important notice and you need to read this and really consider if you want to put independent businesses out of work when you could reschedule an appointment.

Winter months are coming in, and this comes with illnesses. Self-employed people work on their own basis, and when we have to take time off due to illness, we have no one to cover us and we don’t get paid. It’s not like we can just call in sick and there’s someone else who can magically pop in and take over. If you are ill, whether that is a cough and cold or a sickness bug, reschedule your appointment. It is literally stated in my policy to reschedule your appointment if you are unwell - not just to protect me, but also my sister. If she gets a virus this generally triggers croup which is really f*cking painful. I will be blunt with people now on this, and I will be turning you away if you appear unwell or if you slip up saying you’re on the tail end of some form of illness. It doesn’t matter what stage of your appointment we are at, we will be finishing up and you will be sent on your way. I don’t want it, my household doesn’t want it, and my sister sure as hell doesn’t want it. On top of this, I cannot afford to be moving 8+ clients into the following week because I’ve had to take time off. I can reschedule you if you are ill because you are one person - I can jig people around by 30/60mins to fit you in when you are better. Be considerate, reschedule your appointment, and if you don’t like it, I am not the nail tech for you.

Thanks for taking the time to read this, a majority of you are respectful and would reschedule your appointments and I thank you for that and appreciate those clients. But there are a few of you who do not consider the implications of bringing illness to a self-employed beautician, and I’ll use this point to be very clear on how much of an impact this would have on those who work on lashes, brows and facials as their main forms of income. They would suffer an even bigger impact than I, so consider them as well.
