You’d be surprised how difficult it can be to truly let go.
Even on the massage table, many of us stay in ‘doing’ mode—helping with movements, adjusting our position to accommodate the therapist, or anticipating what’s needed next.
While I always appreciate the thought, you don’t need to do that here. This is your time to be supported. I’m here to help you truly switch off, unwind, and let go of everything you’ve been carrying.
All you need to do is rest and receive ♥️

If you’ve been here a while, you’ll probably know a bit about why I started Calm Folke Therapies and the journey behind it.
But I thought it was about time I shared a little more about the person behind the business🙆♀️
So here’s a little glimpse into who I am outside of massage and yoga ✨
I’d love to know: what fact surprised you most, and what’s a fun fact about you? 👇

Sometimes, when you’re feeling burnt out, carrying aches and pains, or simply finding life a bit too much, even the thought of calling or emailing to book some self-care can feel overwhelming.
That’s why I removed the extra steps.
With my online booking system, you can book whenever you’re ready. Just a few clicks, and you’re one step closer to the care, rest, and support your body has been asking for. ♥️
Link to book is in my bio 🔗

These are some of the things I actually love when my massage clients do them

Yesterday was a really busy work day, but at one point I found myself thinking, “I really love my job.”
I’ve been catching myself in these small, mindful moments of reflection and think what a privilege it is to do this work.
Being able to help people, even in a small way—sometimes when it’s the first time in a while they’ve had space to simply relax—and being part of that feels really meaningful.
It’s what I feel grateful to do; supporting people as they reconnect with themselves through massage, yoga, and meditation 🍃

My self-care journey has adapted and changed over time, and more recently, I feel more rejuvenated by doing nothing. Not being productive, not ticking things off my list, but just being.
I know that people interpret self care in different ways, but for me, doing less is is sometimes more. ♥️

I love when my yoga students …
✨ Take a different variation or modification (even if it’s one I didn’t suggest)- you know your body best, go with how you feel that day
✨ Stop and rest even as class continues around them- being able to tune everything else out and listen to your body will do more for you than pushing through.
✨ Share their experience- something that may feel great in my body may not feel good in yours so I love to share experiences. It helps me as a teacher to continue to adapt and make my classes more accessible to varying bodies and experiences.

Low back pain isn’t always just about the lower back.
For many people, tension in the glutes (especially the piriformis area) can play a role in how the low back feels and moves.
In session, I might work with this area using sustained pressure and gentle movement of the leg to help ease tension and support freer movement through the hips and lower back.
It’s never about forcing anything—just giving the body space to soften and unwind in its own way. ✨
