✨🖤 SHABA Awards 2025 🖤✨

A little speech incoming……..

Huge thanks to everyone who helped me reach the finals. Although I didn't take home an award this time, I want to congratulate the winner of Best Female Stylist - your entry was phenomenal and well deserved. Kudos to all the winners this year.

I'm proud I took the leap and put myself out there. Special thanks to Zara, my last-minute model, who rocked it! Thanks to my team for the encouragement and support, and to my amazing clients, friends, and family for cheering me on.

While we didn't bring home trophies, the experience was invaluable and re-ignited a spark of motivation and creativity.

Forever grateful to:
, my incredible model
, our talented photographer
for the opportunity

What's been happening lately...
Well following on from my introduction to myself post some of you may know, I made significant changes last year, the most notable being my departure from the salon where I began my career. This decision was not made lightly; I was hesitant to leave behind a place that felt like home, where I had at that point spent more than half my life.
I feel like I had played a part in contributing to its physical character over the years, including dressing the place up in my own way when it came to various events and holidays. (Little touches of Lisa here and there that if you know me and you know the salon you know exactly what I mean). The thought of not seeing the people who had become family to me and who watched my son grow from a newborn to a teenager was incredibly challenging. I will always treasure the memories and the clients I met along the way, whether they sat in my chair or were regulars of my colleagues.
For those who are familiar with me but may not know the whole story, I want to clarify that I never abandoned my passion for hairdressing, despite what some might have thought. I apologize for not addressing this sooner. It took time to find my footing, but I needed to make changes that allowed me to work in a way that benefited both me and my family, enabling me to offer my best self to my clients.

I am now self-employed and also work three days a week at NUTJOB SALON GLASGOW, alongside a wonderful team that has welcomed me warmly. I feel safe, accepted, and consistently encouraged to thrive here. Thank you, Nicola, Lauren, and Chris; I truly appreciate your support.
Lastly, I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to my previous clients who took the time to find me at my new location. For those who may have thought I stepped away from hairdressing, I hope you know I am still here and ready to serve you if the need arises. 29/03/2025
