Scottish Independent Aesthetic Practitioners

It is with great sadness that we learned of the tragic death of fellow Independent Aesthetic Practitioner, Vikki Solomon.

Vikki was a passionate advocate for our profession and someone who worked tirelessly to raise awareness of the important role that skilled, independent practitioners play within the aesthetics industry.

Many of you will know that Vikki was actively involved in discussions surrounding the recent Scottish aesthetics legislation. She generously shared her knowledge, experience and perspective, helping policymakers better understand our profession and the realities faced by practitioners across the country. Her commitment to supporting our industry will not be forgotten.

At this incredibly difficult time, our thoughts and heartfelt condolences are with Vikki’s children, her family, friends, colleagues and everyone whose lives she touched.

Out of respect for those closest to her, we will not be commenting on the circumstances surrounding her death while the police investigation is ongoing. We ask that everyone does the same and allow the authorities the time and space to carry out their work.

The independent aesthetics community is a close one, and today we stand together in remembering a respected colleague who cared deeply about the profession she loved.

Rest in peace, Vikki. You will be greatly missed. 🕊️

We are particularly interested in hearing from practitioners who have:

* Closed or are considering closing their business due to the stress, uncertainty, or financial impact of the changes.
* Decided to pursue HIS registration in order to continue practising.
* Started, or are considering starting, a nursing or medical degree solely to remain in the industry and protect their career.

The Scottish Government’s Business and Regulatory Impact Assessment (BRIA) concluded that relatively few practitioners would be significantly affected by the new regulations. However, we want to understand the real impact on independent practitioners across Scotland.

An every industry, there is a side people see…
