AMBERWAVE SAUNA

Did you know why we’re called 𝘈𝘮𝘣𝘦𝘳𝘸𝘢𝘷𝘦?

Our sauna is rooted in the German Aufguss tradition.

During a Guided Aufguss, water and ice infused with essential oils are poured onto the hot sauna stones. The aromatic steam is then moved through the sauna by the Sauna Master using rhythmic towel and fanning techniques.

We practise Modern Classic Aufguss – centred around heat, aromatic steam, movement and a carefully curated soundtrack, creating an immersive experience designed to be deeply relaxing and energising.

As the steam moves through the room, you feel waves of aromatic heat wash over and surround you.

Warm, enveloping, almost like a hug.

That’s the 𝘸𝘢𝘷𝘦.

And 𝘢𝘮𝘣𝘦𝘳? Amber has long been associated with warmth, healing and protection – which felt fitting for the experience we wanted to create. It’s also a nod to the golden glow of the sauna and the feeling we want you to leave with.

And that makes us 𝘈𝘮𝘣𝘦𝘳𝘸𝘢𝘷𝘦. 🩷🔥

HEAT. STEAM. RITUAL.

Heat on your skin. Sound moving through the space. A moment to soften, slow down and switch off. ✨

Our first sauna sound bath with Angela Ferns from Rise Holistic Therapies invites you to sink into the warmth, settle into stillness and let yourself be held by the heat and sound.

Two hours of immersive sauna rounds, rest, cooling and deep relaxation.

🔥 Sunday 11 October | 18:30–20:30
£35 per person

We can’t quite believe it’s almost been three months since we opened the doors and hosted our very first Aufguss session in our beautiful sauna. 🔥

Here are a few photos from that very first session – equal parts excitement, nerves, heat and a lot of steam.

So much has happened since then, and it’s been pretty special watching this little space come to life.

Thank you to everyone who has stepped through the doors, shared the heat with us, told a friend, come back again or simply followed along.

Thanks for being part of our journey. 🩷

👋 Meet Beth, our wonderful Sauna Host and the latest addition to our team.

You might meet her at your next session, welcoming you in, keeping the fire roaring and making sure you’re well looked after.

As one recent Google review put it:

“Beth is charming, knowledgeable, and has a great sense of humour.”

We absolutely agree. 🩷

Fun fact: before joining us, Beth was a sauna host at Scenic Saunas in Wellington, New Zealand 🇳🇿 🔥

We’re very happy to have her with us. Be sure to say hello next time you’re in!

The ancient Greeks understood something about the New Moon that we’ve perhaps forgotten.

They called it Noumenia – the beginning of the new lunar month and they considered it the holiest of days.

It wasn’t a time for doing more.

It was a time to pause, cleanse the household, tend the sacred space, make offerings and welcome the new cycle.

We love this as a way of thinking about our New Moon Sauna.

Not another thing to achieve.

A chance to step out of the noise, into the heat, and give yourself some space to consider:

The Moon is dark, but the cycle is beginning.
