1 year ago today, we decided it was time for me to go red ❤️ And as much as we loved that era, with autumn around the corner, it felt like the right time to bring brunette Ana back🤎

This is probably my favourite colour and length on me, so I genuinely have no idea what Ben and I are supposed to do next 😂

For now, full circle completed.
Somehow, we always end up back at brunette.

Direct sunlight is probably the toughest critic your makeup will ever meet.

Studio lighting, indoor lighting and even phone cameras can soften texture, blur edges and make everything look a little more forgiving. Natural daylight does the opposite, it shows you the real finish, the real texture, the real blending and whether the makeup actually sits beautifully on the skin.

That’s why I’m so particular about the products and techniques I use on my brides. They’re chosen to photograph beautifully, yes, but also to look polished, seamless and flattering in real life, in every kind of light.

And bridal trial season for next year has already started properly over here 🤍

So I ended up at FACEGYM Cambridge in getting my face worked harder than I do at the actual gym.

Facial massage, lymphatic drainage, sculpting, EMS… and yes, my Trainer’s hands were deceptively powerful 💪🏼

Naturally, the makeup artist in me was mainly thinking about bridal skin prep, because anything that leaves the face looking this fresh, depuffed and sculpted before makeup has my attention.

Did they mould me into Megan Fox? Not quite…

This is the part of microcurrent that interests me most as a makeup artist: what it can do to the way the skin looks right before makeup.

I’ve been testing the HALO microcurrent facial device as part of my pre-makeup skin prep, and I’m loving the effect: skin that looks fresher, smoother and more sculpted before I even start the makeup.

I’m not expecting skincare prep to perform miracles. I just want the skin to look really good before foundation goes anywhere near it 😂
