Tea tree and rosemary are not subtle. They arrive, get on with things and leave the scalp feeling properly clean which is exactly what a hardworking shampoo bar should do.

Tea tree essential oil brings its crisp, herbaceous clarity. Rosemary adds green depth and keeps things from tipping into sharpness. Together they make a wash that feels purposeful and thorough without being harsh.

The base of coconut oil, cocoa seed butter, argan oil, olive oil and jojoba oil, with panthenol and plant-based phytokeratin, ensures hair is conditioned as it's cleansed. Sodium cocoyl isethionate gives a generous, clean-rinsing lather that respects the scalp.

Dandelions might be the most stubborn flowers in the garden, but we think that is part of their charm.

Those bright yellow blooms that appear along paths, lawns and field edges can also have a place in botanical soapmaking. Dandelion has a long history of traditional herbal use and brings plenty of botanical interest to a handmade bar.

Our Dandy Dandelion soap combines dandelion and calendula flowers with kaolin clay for a gentle cleanse. Olive oil, coconut oil and shea butter create a creamy, conditioning lather that leaves skin feeling soft and refreshed.

Then there is the scent.

Sweet orange and lemon essential oils bring a vibrant citrus fragrance that is bright, clean and wonderfully sunny. It feels like the first warm day of the year captured in a bar of soap.

Cold-processed in small batches at Sage Cottage and wrapped in plastic-free packaging.

Sometimes the plants we overlook are the ones worth noticing.
