Yesterday at the market you saw a beautiful handmade Soap, it was £4, you said it was expensive....
You had a Costa Coffee cup in your hand...

Behind the scenes, there are scales, thermometers, calculations, safety assessments, ingredient documentation, fragrance limits, allergen calculations, batch records… and a truly ridiculous amount of paperwork.

Making handmade soap to sell isn’t simply melting a soap base, adding a splash of fragrance and colour and hoping for the best.

Every one of my soaps is made within a professionally safety-assessed formulation. Ingredients are carefully measured, fragrance percentages are calculated, supplier documentation is checked, allergens are considered, and every production batch is recorded and traceable.

The shapes can change.
The colours can change.
The fragrances can change.

But the rules behind making a safe, properly documented cosmetic product don’t disappear just because the finished result looks beautiful l.

Handmade Soap can be creative, and beautiful …..but the beauty still has to follow the formula.
