And still people wonder why SEND parents/ carers appear completely broken. Because they are. Broken by the system. By the lack of support. And most of all from the lack of having basic human needs met.

🌿 CONFIDENCE BUILDING ADVENTURE WEEKEND 🌿

Who would like to join in?

For neurodivergent children and their accompanying adult.

📅 Friday 13 (PM)–Sunday 15 November 2026
🏡 Three days and two nights

Many neurodivergent children experience anxiety, low self-esteem and a lack of confidence. Not because they are incapable, but because everyday environments do not always allow them to recognise just how capable they are.

This weekend is about trying to change that.

Children will have the opportunity to try exciting adventure activities, face challenges at their own pace, celebrate their achievements and build confidence in a safe, inclusive and supportive environment.

Your stay includes:

• Two nights’ accommodation
• Home-cooked breakfast, lunch and evening meals
• A programme of adventure activities
• Access to a Games Room and Hydrotherapy Room (hydro one booked session per stay)
• Activities led by Calvert experienced and qualified instructors
• Time to enjoy the beautiful surroundings of the Lake District area.

💚 Special subsidised price: £250 in total for one child and one accompanying adult (The usual cost would be approximately £500).

For safeguarding and risk-assessment purposes, every child must attend with an adult who will remain responsible for supervising them throughout the weekend. During organised activities, participants will also be supported by Calvert's trained instructors.

Additional adult places may be available at a cost of £250 per adult, subject to availability.

🚐 A minibus may be available for an additional charge, or families can make their own way to Calvert Lakes Trust in Keswick.

Sometimes we have so much to carry, and so many demands, that we can’t even think clearly about how someone else could help. Maybe just drop them round a cooked meal or take their kids out for a few hours. #burnout #SENDparent #SENDcommunity #autism #ADHD

So lovely to give people time and space to chat about things they find tricky - it’s nice to find out you’re not alone in that!

Of course we had the relaxation and nervous system reset 🥰
