One of the loveliest parts of this job is being there for all the little bits in between 🤍

It’s not just the hair and makeup. It’s the veil, the last-minute touch-ups, checking everything feels right and being there while the whole morning starts coming together.

You spend quite a few hours with your hair and makeup artist on your wedding morning, so I really do think feeling comfortable with the person you’ve booked matters just as much as loving their work.

And apparently I spend most of it smiling away in the background 😂🤍

Natural bridal makeup doesn’t have to mean barely-there 🤍 It can still have lovely glowing skin, soft definition, blush and lashes, without feeling heavy or like you’ve suddenly become a completely different person.

This happens ALL the time 😂 A bridesmaid sits in my chair, has her hair and makeup done, looks absolutely perfect and then goes, “Right, I’m off to steam my dress now!”

Cue the look of horror on my face 😳😂 Off she goes into a room full of heat and steam, and I’m thinking about what it’s going to do to the hair and makeup we’ve just finished!

My advice is always to steam your dresses the night before and leave them hanging up somewhere safely. If they really do need doing on the morning, give the job to someone who hasn’t had their hair and makeup done yet and steam them in a completely different room to where everyone is getting ready.

Please, for the sake of a good hair and makeup day… don’t do it after your hair & makeup 🤣🤍
