What goes on your skin during a massage? 🤔
I thought I’d give you a little peek behind the scenes!
I’m a big fan of Songbird massage waxes because they’re packed with lovely natural ingredients like castor oil, sunflower seed wax, natural vitamin E, arnica extract and essential oils. They feel gorgeous on the skin while I’m working on those tight muscles — helping to leave your skin soft, nourished and moisturised too✨
I also use Highland waxes (I’ve just run out, so they didn’t make it into the photo😅).
And if your skin is more sensitive or prone to irritation, I always have grapeseed massage oil available as a gentler, hypoallergenic option☺️
So during the massage, your skin gets to feel soft and nourished too 🌸

Deep tissue massage works deeper into the muscles to help release tension, stiffness and tightness. It’s ideal for people who train regularly, have physically demanding jobs, or feel that a relaxing massage isn’t enough.
Using slower, targeted techniques and deeper pressure, it can help improve muscle mobility, flexibility, circulation and range of movement.
It’s also a great option for recovery when your muscles feel overworked after training or a busy week.
If you’re dealing with tight, overworked muscles, deep tissue or sports massage could be exactly what you need 🌸
We’ll talk about the teres minor today:
👉🏽 The teres minor is one of the four muscles that make up your rotator cuff. It’s a small muscle located at the back of your shoulder. Although it’s the smallest rotator cuff muscle, it plays an important role in shoulder stability and movement.
👉🏽 Its main role is to rotate your arm outward (external rotation) while helping to stabilise the shoulder joint during movement.
👉🏽 Teres minor is especially active during overhead activities such as throwing, swimming, or reaching. It works closely with the other rotator cuff muscles to help your shoulder move smoothly and efficiently.
👉🏽 When this muscle becomes tight, weak, or irritated, it may cause pain at the back of your shoulder, weakness during outward rotation, or discomfort during overhead movements.
👉🏽 To keep your teres minor healthy, focus on strengthening your rotator cuff, maintaining good posture, and keeping your shoulder mobile. Hands-on massage therapy may also help reduce muscle tension and improve comfort around the shoulder.
Please keep in mind that the human body is incredibly complex, and it’s not possible to explain everything in full detail within just a minute or two. Because of that, this post includes some simplifications, with the goal of giving you a clear general overview of the topic.

Hi 😊
We’ll talk about the infraspinatus today:
👉🏼 The infraspinatus is one of the four muscles that make up your rotator cuff. It sits on the back of your shoulder blade and plays an important role in keeping your shoulder stable.
👉🏼 Its main role is to rotate your arm outward (external rotation) while helping to stabilize the shoulder joint during movement.
👉🏼 Every time you reach behind you, throw a ball, or simply lift your arm, the infraspinatus works to keep your shoulder moving smoothly and your joint well supported.
👉🏼 When this muscle becomes tight, irritated, or overworked, it may cause shoulder pain, weakness, and discomfort during everyday activities, especially when reaching overhead or rotating your arm.
👉🏼 Improving shoulder mobility, maintaining good posture, strengthening your rotator cuff muscles, and receiving hands-on massage therapy may help reduce muscle tension, improve shoulder function, and keep your shoulder joints moving smoothly.

Hi 😊
We’ll talk about the supraspinatus today:
👉🏽The supraspinatus is one of the four muscles that make up your rotator cuff. It sits on top of your shoulder blade, tucked beneath the shoulder bone.
👉🏽Its main role is to help lift your arm out to the side while keeping your shoulder joint stable throughout the movement.
👉🏽When this muscle becomes irritated, tight, or overloaded, simple everyday tasks like reaching into a cupboard, putting on a T-shirt, or lifting weights can become painful.
👉🏽Pain is often felt when you first start lifting your arm away from your body or reaching overhead.
👉🏽Improving shoulder mobility, strengthening your rotator cuff muscles, and receiving hands-on massage therapy may help reduce muscle tension, ease discomfort, and improve shoulder movement.
Please keep in mind that the human body is incredibly complex, and it’s not possible to explain everything in full detail within just a minute or two. Because of that, this video includes some simplifications, with the goal of giving you a clear general overview of the topic.
