🟢 A police watchdog investigation has been launched following the death of Ricky Swindells, 28, an autistic man from Salford who became unresponsive after being restrained by officers.

Police were called to his home on 24 July after his family raised concerns he was in "significant distress." Officers handcuffed him, saying it was "for his own safety." He became unresponsive at the scene and died in hospital the next day.

Our thoughts are with Ricky's family and loved ones at this incredibly difficult time. 💚
