I've been a hairdresser for nearly 18 years. Started training in gayton then went into kings lynn. After my first child decided on a change of salon and started to work within the qeh for 13 1/2 years.

As of the 28th of February bobtailz will close its doors at the hospital. As of the current situation and the salons position I have made the decision to move on. However I will still be taking appointments and working in West winch as of march. You can contact me on 07757301333.

I really had to hold it together when a young lady comes in and wants to donate nearly 11 inches to the princess Trust. 👏👏 Me and her mum had several conversations if this is really how short she wants to go but she did it. 🥰

Just a polite reminder to give as much notice as u can when cancelling an appointment. Before covid there was the odd no show or last minute cancellation but now it has become a regular thing, I know life gets in the way and things happen but I also have a business to run and bills to pay. My policy was to charge a 50% of the appointment if I wasn't given enough notice or a no show but I even have a job to get this. So after too many no shows I will be charging a non refundable deposit for any appointments booked .we have all got to make a living as much as I love all my clients dearly!

Although visiting has stopped I am still open to clients. While the clinics are still running so am I. X

I get so many questions about BRASSY hair. How to prevent it from happening? What to do when it does happen? How do I make it ashy?
•
As I’ve stated several times if you lift, lighten, or even bump the natural hair it is going to turn warm. The darker the hair the warmer it will be!
You cannot lift the hair to ashy nor can you keep it ashy.
Think about a poster that’s white but been exposed to the sun for a period of time. What color does it turn? Think about your white clothes that have been bleached too many times. They usually end up turning yellow with holes in it. Well guess what 🤷🏻‍♀️ same thing happens to the hair. •
Here’s an example
We use foundation to smooth and even out our skin, reduce redness, cover up acne, etc. much like a toner does but after the makeup comes off and we’re back to our “normal” skin were left with whatever problem was there to begin with just like when the toner fades you’ll be back to “brassy” •
In order for hair to not get brassy you would have to lift past pale yellow which means you’ve removed all the keratin protein from the hair and I can guarantee it won’t hold any color at that point. The more porous the hair, the more temporary the color will be (even permanent). •
Toners are just a temporary solution and pigmented shampoos can help (only on light hair, not orange) but can also be drying because they are high in alkalinity. •
This is a client of mine after session 1 then 9 months later and you can see how brassy she returned. To get her to pic 3 I had to lighten her again. Yes I applied lightener over previously bleached hair. •
When the hair is orange 🍊 and you attempt to apply something with blue in it does it actually make it ashy? 🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️

Lift the hair to an “acceptable” color so that when it does fade it still looks nice 👍🏼 Stop ✋🏼 trying to put bandaids on things that require surgery 👩🏻‍⚕️

It was a week of long hair. 😓
The left wanted chunky high and low lights and the right wanted to go darker to match her natural colour with blonde foils finished with mocha toner framing her face. 💛🤎

This lovely lady comes in for her weekly blowdry. I'm able to get a great shape which lasts. 🥰 @helenaanderson.

Stressed is an understatement. As you have all seen i will be shutting the doors from the 5th nov and back open on the 3rd Dec HOPEFULLY. I will be opening the book to rebook people in nearer to the opening date just incase it has moved!!!!! I am already fully booked working late and working Wednesday so I haven't got any room available for extra but if I get a cancellation I will be booking according to when you were booked in.
