♡ WEDDING SEASON HAS BEGUN ♡ My first two weddings this week after my holiday have been BEEEAUTIFUL!! Which has made me sooooo excited for the year ahead!! ♡

♡ THANK YOU and your 💡 for capturing the most airy fairy beautiful makeup chair moment and THANK YOU and your 9 bridesmaids of the yellow circle club that danced around me and you hattie in a circle singing pink pony club whilst I applied your final touch ups! It was noisy and distracting 😝 but will be a forever memory!! ♡

♡ I loved Friday so much.... how magical was the light!! ♡ Hair by magical fave ♡

♡ I'm not sure what's making me smile more! This gorgeously natural bridesmaid makeup look...her beeeautiful smile...or the fact I actually managed to take a pic on a wedding day morning!! Let's just give it x 3 🙂🙂🙂 ♡

♡ This was my 5th makeup this morning and before I started the makeup my client asked if she could do her own brows! To which I replied OF COURSE! Over the years I've learnt BROWS, MASCARA, EYE LINER amongst other things can be very personal and I have no problem with you making you feel more like you! ♡

♡ The makeup brief here was... I have dry skin, love bronser, I don't wear blusher or eyeliner but you do your thing ♡

♡ I listened to the brief but discreetly used eyeliner to tighline using my fave brown liner. Glowy skin foundation ♡ Bronser ♡ With thanks to these guys I nudged my client into using a super natural blusher Not To Much 🤓 ♡

♡ My FAVOURITE lip combo at the moment is.... lip blur STONE WHEREVER WALNUT Lip Veil BRITISH ROSE ♡

Your photographer arrives and understands we're in the middle of makeup wedding perfection mayhem and leaves us be OR your photographer is going to have a 20 minute conversation with you. WHEN YOU TALK... your eyes move, your cheeks move... you're making it nearly impossible for me to perfect your makeup!... it 100% takes up more time ....which delays the morning and honestly wastes my products.... gel liner dries out, lash glue dries out. It'ssuch a silly thingto mention.... but no bodydoes mentioniy! ! Honestly I'm not sure any other wedding supplier has the interruptions we do. THAT SAID every wedding supplier has their hurdles... i'm just talking about mine

I KNOW MAKEUP LOOKS EASY... but it's NOT! It's a skill of symmetry... it is art! I'm a perfectionist... I'm booked to make my client look and feel the BEST they have.... in turn to set them up for one of the biggest days of their life.

Anyway enough of the ted talk! I'll follow up tomorrow with the comedy idea... a video idea to explain the last two posts! ❤️

☆ I think this will be my most HONEST post ever....THE WEDDING DAY MORNING...UNFILTERED!! Honestly i'm thinking of just hanging my makeup brushes up and leaving the wedding world because i'm getting soooo frustrated on wedding day mornings!! BUT ... No body actually spills the wedding day honest beans....

SO I'M GOING TO!! I'm going full steam to THE BRIDAL MAKEUP!! My job is make YOU the BRIDE ( the bride who's spent thousands of pounds on this amazing wedding, amazing venue, thousands of hours of worry, thought stress of making the day utterly perfect for everyone else... BUT... The first thing you'll look at in your photo's is YOU...we ALL do it! You'll look at your dress your face? Especially your face and hope you look amazing!! I know I did in my wedding pictures.

Which brings me to my honest post! YOUR FACE!! I have 1.5 hours with you... to make you look and feel the most amazing you've felt! During that 1.5 hours... THE ONLY 1.5 HOURS YOU ACTUALLY SIT STILL FOR THE WHOLE DAY... WHICH Should be a calm safe place .... turns into OPERATION.... TARGET THE BRIDE with love, food , ridiculous questions and STOP... BLOODY STOP!! This is to the amazing bridesmaids... I know you want your friend to feel special.... BUT she needs SPACE! In the makeup chair it's the only time she can absorb the moment... making memories with the background music... just hearing your voices is calming. The moment a bride get's into the makeup chair the nerves KICK IN!! This when she needs space.... I totally get you want to best friend... but for this time only.... GIVE HER SPACE! Also from my point of view if you're constantly talking to my client/ your best mate ...you're making it SOOOO FU***NG HARD for me to do my job of MAKING YOUR BEST MATE LOOK THE MOST AMAZING THEY HAVE EVER LOOKED! I know makeup looks easy but it takes precision abd a still face!!

Que my next obstacle.... in the 1.5 hour slot I have of my brides FULL DAY, after the above... we have the arrival of the flowers... which is emotional because they're beautiful... THEN... just as I'm about to do a wing liner.... your photographer arrives! You either have a super ace photographer that get's you're in...

♡ Are you ready for story time? ♡

♡ I had the pleasure of doing makeup at her sister's wedding 3 years ago. When I saw Libby got engaged on her sister's insta, I had my fingers 🤞and toes crossed she would ask me to do her bridal makeup, too! The excitement I felt when she did ask me gave me the biggest buzz! ♡

♡ When Libby came for her trial, I honestly didn't want the trial to end! We chatted sooooo much!! I loved catching up with their family news, I loooved being educated on the Jewish traditions of marriage, and I just LOVED being in Libby's company! ♡

♡ Knowing the family, it was really important to me that I wanted to make her mum and sister ( who had just given birth to her second child a month before Libby's wedding) feel extra special... so I invited them to come for a trial before the wedding. Again, I didn't want these trials to end!! ♡

♡ Yesterday , In my little floatylite mind... I felt like an honoury family member just floating in the background, and my only goal was making Libby, Lisa, and Elle feel super special!! ♡

♡ NATURAL before and still NATURAL after... MAKEUP ♡ I have absolutely no problem sharing a bare faced, zero makeup Amy George Makeup because, honestly, whilst makeup is my profession and I have more makeup in my kit than any normal person would buy in an entire lifetime...I am completely confident going bare faced to any situation. That said, I understand the special power that makeup can bring when applied properly. I LOVE how makeup can enhance natural beauty and empower confidence that was already there, but the therapeutic, relaxing power of applying makeup for a special occasion is something to be celebrated!! ♡

♡ THIS is my WHY... the ethos to how I work! I want to enhance your natural beauty and in the process... the very relaxing process to give you confidence (which you already had, but weddings turn every one crazy, me included (double bracket talking about my wedding) to make you look and actually MORE importantly for me is for you to FEEL your VERY, VERY BEST.... whilst still looking like YOU.... BUT THEEEE VERY BEST, i'm actually IN LOVE WITH MYSELF BEST!! 😉🫡😏 there's no better feeling for ME to see how my makeup magic empowers YOU! In those moments, I forget how stressful my job is, how time consuming away from family life it is, I forget the 4am alarm wake ups and the fact I actually haven't stopped working for 7 hours straight with zero breaks BECAUSE all I'm doing is welling up with tears when I see you lifted because YOU FEEL SO SPECIAL!! I bloody love seeing this... that my hit, that's my job done! 🫡❣️

I actually just meant to post these pics with a makeup product breakdown, but Naughty Norman is out... I indulgenced a Greys Anatomy season 13 finale... cried a lot, which I love BTW emotional crying, which made me post this!! I will post a product breakdown, though.

♡ HELLO, it's me, it's AMY GEORGE MAKEUP ♡ This is my makeup story... not a denim on triple denim advert ♡ Eadie was my motivation to set my business up, to be an example of hard work and believe in your dreams no matter what ♡

I love makeup, and I love fashion. Both come hand in hand for me.... but if you asked me to choose, I would ALWAYS choose fashion! I do not have a problem going bare faced anywhere, but bare body... not a chance! That's a sight only Norm sees once a year on his birthday 🫢

I'm always asked how you get into makeup, and the honest answer is I stumbled into my career! I've always loved makeup from a very young age... In fact, I think my first makeup memory lies with my babysitter and the way she did her lips. It was the 80's she wore a hot lip liner and used a frosted pink eyeshadow on her lips... it looked so cool! As fate has it, Rebecca went on to be the beauty floor manager at Fenwicks in York and believed in me to manage a new makeup counter... and that's where my makeup journey began.

I am a hopeless romantic, absolute sucker for a love story, I love helping people, I'm a creative with a desire to make things look beautiful...oh and I love makeup, expensive makeup, high end makeup... ALWAYS HAVE.

I have invested 10 years into me, you, this! 1.5 years at makeup school just to be confident bridal was my thing. I've invested thousands of £'s into 1-2-1's with makeup artists I massively look up to, and I learnt more from them than makeup school. If I were a number girlie. I would tell you the hours I've spent cleaning brushes, miles driven to venues, number of weddings I've worked at, yearly or to date... but I'm not a number girlie, I'm an empathetic, very honest, super hard working, tres old school makeup girlie...who isn't driven by numbers, just how I make my clients feel! What I will say say is that I've worked HARD, almost too hard to be where I am today in our little big wedding world!

I built my business up from just an idea, then genuinely hustled the Amy George magic, said yes to every shoot going up and down the country and abroad. So this me Amy George Makeup ♡

♡ MAKEUP CHAIR ETIQUETTE ♡ Let's talk about it!! I know makeup application looks easy, BUT IT'S NOT!! It takes precision, skill, concentration, and a fairly CALM and STILL face for me to perfect your bridal makeup!

♡ My one time to shine for YOU...the 1.5 hours I have with you to make you FEEL and LOOK theeee best you have EVER FELT AND LOOKED.... turns into an episode of Cheers edition! Just go with me on this and call me Ted Amy George Danson 😏... your bridal room is the bar, and when I have you in my chair... that's where everyone comes to order!

♡ This is the FIRST time you've stopped ALL morning, so of course your best girls are going to make a fuss of you! They are going to slide to the bar... sorry, makeup chair and make a fuss of you! They are going to try and feed you, make you drink, try to paint your nails, or just chit-chat to you to make you feel special BUT without knowing it is going to make my job soooo much harder!! ♡

♡ I'm just about to do your gel feline flick eyeliner that takes precision and a very still eye, the gel liner is on my brush... I have seconds till it dries... then the bar, sorry, bridal room door opens... it's your photographer, Kirsty Alley! Que a 5/ 10 minute conversation where my liner dries out before application. I can try and apply makeup whilst you're chatting, but honestly, it's soooo hard and mega frustrating because your whole face is moving. My most favourite photographers are the ones that say a quick hello, know you're in the middle of makeup, then come back to chat when it's done! ♡

♡ We're back on track... eyeshadow, liner done... we're onto individual lashes, which takes concentration on both our parts! Who walks in...Shelly Long the florist. The eyelash glue is wiped off, and another 10 minute break in makeup. Again, I get it as your flowers are one of the biggest surprises for your wedding, which brings so much excitement and usually tears... but for me, another interruption ♡

♡ I do book out time to allow for all the regulars of Cheers, but you can help me by...relaxing into the moment and just tell the bar to leave you alone until your makeup is done! Leave your phone on charge too!

I book out 1.5 hours with my brides on a wedding day morning so I have time to prep the skin properly, to apply light layer after layer of makeup to buff onto the skin to keep it looking and feeling natural. ♡
