“Colour specialist” has become a bit of a buzzword in the hair industry lately.

Some people hear it and think:

✨ foil work

But true colour work goes far beyond that.

To me, being a colour specialist means understanding ALL aspects of colour:
• blonding
• vivid colours
• colour correction
• scalp bleaching
• creative placement
• tonal corrections
• maintaining hair integrity while pushing colour safely

A lot of stylists avoid vivid colours or scalp bleaches completely because they’re higher skill, higher responsibility services — and that’s okay. Not every stylist has to offer everything.

But it does mean “colour specialist” shouldn’t only mean “I can do highlights.”

I love working across the full spectrum of colour. From soft expensive blondes to vivid transformations, copper work, dimensional brunettes and corrective colour.

The technical side of colour is genuinely what I enjoy most — custom formulations, understanding undertones, problem solving and creating something tailored instead of copying the same formula onto every client.

Hair colour should feel creative, individual and intentional — not one-size-fits-all.
