I wasn’t sure whether to share this, but I feel like it’s something worth talking about 🤍
When I was younger, I felt completely lost. There were times when I couldn’t see a future for myself and couldn’t imagine things ever feeling different or better.
But I stayed.
And when I look at my life now, I’m so grateful I did.
Because if I hadn’t, I wouldn’t have experienced all of the things that have happened since. I wouldn’t have built the life I have today, my business, my salon, the people I’ve met, the memories I’ve made, even my cats 🥹 all the things I couldn’t see coming when I was struggling.
Sometimes you just have to make it through the moment you’re in. You don’t need to have your whole future figured out.
Please talk.
Talk to your friends, your family, your GP, a professional, even your hairdresser!! Literally anyone you trust. You don’t have to carry everything alone.
This month, I’ve donated 5% of my earnings to Mind, because mental health support is something I feel really strongly about.
You never truly know what someone else is going through, so check in on your people, listen without judgement and keep the conversation going.

Things I want you to know before you sit in my chair:
✨ Your hair is never too much, long, thick, fine, curly, whatever we’ll work with it!
✨ You don’t have to make small talk. Silent appointments are absolutely fine. You’ll even get a form to fill in to request one beforehand 💅🏻
✨ Hungry? Thirsty? Need the toilet? Tell me. 😂
✨ Sensitive scalp? PLEASE tell me. I’d rather know than have you suffering through your appointment.
✨ Want a vape/cig break? Just ask.
✨ Don’t like something? Tell me. I genuinely won’t be offended, I want you leaving my chair feeling amazing
✨ And no, I’m not judging you for using supermarket products. We can have a chat about your hair without the lecture 😂

Sometimes, even when you know your stuff
things just don’t go to plan🤷🏼♀️
And I think it’s important to show the reality of being a hairdresser, because social media can make it look like every colour is perfect, every formula behaves exactly as expected and we never make mistakes.
Well, this one didn’t 😂
I knew straight away I wasn’t happy with Nicole’s toner, so I messaged her, apologised, got her back in ASAP and came prepared with chocolates as my peace offering 🍫😂
We had a laugh, talked through what we wanted, went again and THIS time we absolutely smashed it🤎
I’m so grateful for clients like Nicole who are understanding and allow you to put things right.
Because mistakes happen. We’re human. Hair can surprise you.
What matters is how you deal with it.
No ego, no excuses, just communication, accountability and making sure my client leaves happy🫶🏼
And I think we can all agree the second time was SO worth it. 😍
Honestly, the conversations that happen in this chair deserve their own podcast 😭
