A little clarification on the viral curly/bouncy blowdry trend 🤍

I’ve seen SO many posts about this go viral lately, and I’ve had a few requests for a curly blowdry with pin curls, but without the actual blowdry 👀

Just to clarify ,I do always recommend a pin curl after curly blowdries! 🎀 The pin curls are part of how I set the blowdry and help the curls cool and hold their shape.

I can absolutely curl the hair and pin curl it without doing the blowdry first, but it will give a different result.

✨ Curly blowdry + pin curls: the hair is blowdried smooth and bouncy first, creating that gorgeous soft, voluminous salon finish. The curls are then pinned to cool and set.

✨ Curl + pin curl: the hair is curled with an iron/wand and pinned to cool. This gives a more defined, tighter curl and doesn’t create the same smooth, bouncy blowdry finish.

So yes, I can absolutely do the viral curl + pin curl technique ,I just want you to know that it’s not the same finish as a curly blowdry + pin curls 🤍

Both are gorgeous, they’re just two different techniques with two different results!

It’s been a journey just getting here, but we’re definitely getting there! 🤎✨

This hair was previously dark with red underneath, which meant there was a lot of underlying warmth to work through. Foilayage takes time, especially when we’re working through previous colour, and although it’s still not perfect, I’m really happy with the progress we’re making!

We’ll continue building the lightness and working towards that brighter, softer, more seamless finish while keeping the hair as healthy as possible. 🤍
