Mondays are Bobbie days ♥️
We had to stay home this morning so I set up her art station and try and let her play freely 😬
Walk to the woods soon and then naptime.

Self care is as simple as:
Tea, pyjamas, bake off, sleeping baby and low light.

Something tells me I’ll need to add in a run tonight…
For Bobbie it was great;
We did a nature walk in the park. She played with acorns, leaves, mud and stones. Told me that she wanted to put a squirrel in the toilet (potty training talk) and demanded snacks every 200m.
She ran around and did plenty of climbing, hanging and jumping.
The Tesco food shop happened without incident and then she helped me wash Nala when we got home.
Toddler life can be hard but it’s easier to slow down to their level and celebrate the little wins.

Walk, work, run, refuel, recover…
A busy day today but I’ve managed to hit my work goal and fit in a workout before picking Bobbie up.

One to one yoga sessions are a great way to work on technique and take a better understanding of the asanas.
Yoga is a great way to manage injuries and return to other sports. As I found with my patient this morning, it’s also a great way to highlight any problem areas.

16+ weeks of training and about 380km of running completed I can say I have ran a Marathon.
Some exceptionally hard bits of training and lessons learned. No injuries, which was a huge goal of mine. I didn’t hit the time I wanted but I finished strong(ish)
Massive shoutout and thanks to all the help I have had from family and Jack to allow me to prioritise training, the supporters in general who came out in force and made me remember the absolute best about humanity and lastly to the kind stranger who at 33k told me to get my arse in gear and got my pace back up so I could complete the run and not still be walking!
Now for bath, beer and food!

My training has been a little all over the place the past few weeks. The joys of the biweekly virus you get with a toddler!
I have been teaching yoga privately again, maintaining short run and strength sessions. I wanted my legs to feel rested for this 30k run as my 25k felt awful and I wasn’t happy.
I took extra fuel before and during the run. I also ran with water for the first time. I’m not saying this was easy but I was able to keep the pace going for longer. I stopped to walk and stretch twice for 30 seconds but apart from that I ran the whole way.
Deload this week so I’m upping my pace and weights in prep for a 32k run next week.
The hard work is almost done and I’m proud of myself but also happy to see the back of it!

Today’s strength training was nice and easy. I needed it after doing 18k yesterday.
I added in some hip flexor and abdominal exercises.

Half marathon is 7 weeks away and my training is going well. I’m following a training plan which I’m half way through.
It involves three kinds of runs a week and up to three conditioning routines a week. Since having Bobbie my core and pelvis are not what they used to be but so far it’s not given me any issues but I’m aware of it.
I love following a plan and knowing what my week will look like.
