Certainly. I think this is where WACOSA can begin to offer reflection rather than instruction. Rather than saying “pray for money,” each Goddess becomes a teacher of a different aspect of abundance.
WACOSA — Thursday: Open Gates
Wealth • Growth • Power • Prosperity
Prosperity is more than material wealth. Across many African traditions, abundance is found in fertile land, healthy communities, meaningful work, wisdom, creativity, generous relationships and the ability to sustain life. WACOSA honours prosperity as the opening of many gates, each leading to a different expression of abundance.
🌿 AJE — The Gate of Opportunity
Yoruba • West Africa
Aje reminds us that prosperity is not simply received—it is cultivated. She is associated with commerce, exchange, enterprise and the flow of abundance through community. Her presence encourages us to recognise our gifts, to value our work and to understand that wealth grows through integrity, reciprocity and wise stewardship.
WACOSA Reflection
Today I open myself to opportunities that honour my purpose. May I recognise the gifts already within me, use them with wisdom, and allow abundance to flow through my life for the benefit of myself and others.

Asase Yaa teaches that true prosperity begins with the earth beneath our feet. She reminds us that every harvest begins with a seed, every dream requires patience, and every generation depends upon caring for the land and for one another. Her abundance is measured not only in what we possess, but in what we nurture and leave behind.

Mbaba Mwana Waresa is associated with rain, agriculture, fertility and the creative spirit. Rain arrives after waiting, nourishing the earth and awakening new life. She reminds us that prosperity often comes in seasons and that periods of stillness prepare us for future growth. She also celebrates creativity, showing that imagination and skilled hands are forms of wealth in themselves.

Today I welcome renewal into my life. May I trust the timing of growth, embrace my creativity, and recognise that every season has its purpose in the journey towards abundance.

Opening the Gates
Together these three figures reveal that prosperity is not one destination but many pathways.

When these gates are opened together, prosperity becomes more than the accumulation of wealth. It becomes a way of living with purpose, gratitude, creativity and generosity—allowing abundance to flow through us as well as
🎨 A LITTLE LOOK AT MY CREATIVE JOURNEY
Sometimes illness makes you reset.
I’ve always been creative in one way or another. Years ago, one of my first real creative ventures was making wedding cakes — and I don’t mind blowing my own trumpet and saying I was bloody good at it! 😂🎂
Then came children, moving homes, life and all the other things that take us in different directions, and my creativity changed.
In these later years, illness gave me another kind of reset. I found my way back to painting.
And now, having the space to create, I’m allowing myself to take on new challenges and explore where my imagination can go.
We live in an amazing age where different media, traditional techniques and digital technology can all come together. I don’t necessarily invent every idea from scratch — sometimes inspiration comes from something I’ve seen in an art gallery, a book, online or simply through researching something that catches my imagination.
That’s how my spiritual work and my artwork began to merge.
As I learned more about African Goddesses, I started exploring how I could bring that knowledge into my creative practice.
Now I paint on canvas and wood. The wooden pieces have evolved into my Altar/Ritual Boxes, and alongside my paintings I’m creating Oracle cards and guidebooks.
The digital age has made researching, learning, experimenting and developing ideas so much easier. It has allowed me to combine things I already love with new techniques I’m still learning.
And now I’m about to take another step.
At the end of August, I’ll be taking my work to my first proper art fair, putting my paintings, Ritual Boxes and Oracle creations out there for the public to see.
It’s a little scary.
It’s exciting.
And after all these years, it feels really good to be creating again. 🌿🎨✨
