If you have a lot of hair that can take forever to blow dry, or style - this technique is for you.
Focus on blow drying or styling the face framing sections of the hair - and then twist dry the remaining lengths or leave them to dry naturally (especially if youâre prone to texture wave of curl in your hair.)
In Freyaâs case, we were aiming for a low maintenance cool-girl look that amped up her face framing layers.
For the full tutorial, please do like, follow and tune in next week to work with me through all of the steps that we used to achieve this look!
The attachment no one ever talks about - but they should!
If you struggle with smoothing out your hair using a round brush and a dryer, why not consider the brush attachment on your Dyson airwrap, or your Dreame device?
You can create shapes, gentle bends and movement while smoothing out those frizz-prone areas (in this case the top section) with so much ease.
The full tutorial is already up - a few posts back, so please do have a watch if this is an issue you struggle withâŚ

Has your hair suddenly changed post-menopause?
When estrogen levels drop, hair follicles can physically change shape, which can cause once-straight, silky hair to become frizzy, coarse, or unexpectedly wavy. If youâre struggling with menopausal hair changes, you donât need a drawer full of products and tools to fight it.
In this transformation, Iâm showing Helen how to manage, embrace, and enhance her beautiful natural waves with a quick, low-maintenance hair routine. Weâre ditching high heat damage and working with her new texture to restore extra hydration and effortless movement.Â
Struggling with the exact same midlife hair transition as Helen? You can shop all the hydrating, wave-defining products used in todayâs video directly on my ShopMy page linked in the bio above!

Asking for a fringe (or as Americans like to say, âbangsâ) can mean so many different things.
If this discussion resonates with you, stay tuned for Freyaâs hair transformation later on this month, where we explore short, modern face framing pieces - perfect for low maintenance and relaxed hair styles
Frizzy hair often happens closest to the roots and undersides of the hair. The best way to deal with it? Using a small round brush. It allows for better control and a tighter grip over those delicate yet frizz-prone sections.

Taming overlayered, thick hair (without the complicated styling routine) đââď¸
In todayâs tutorial, Salma came in struggling with hair thatâs thick, naturally dry, and prone to frizz, made a little trickier by some top layers that were cut a bit too short.
She wanted a polished, smooth finish, and since sheâs going to need to wait for those top layers out to catch up with the rest of her hair, we needed a strategy. Most importantly? It had to be a style she could actually recreate at home!
Salma isnât confident using a traditional round brush and hair dryer together (which is something I hear often ), so we kept the technique simple:
Prep & Hydrate: We used just ONE product, One United Leave-In Conditionerâto instantly add moisture, heat protection, and smooth down frizz without weighing her thick hair down.
Wrap Dry: Using a simple vent brush, we wrap-dried the hair close to the head to quickly take down volume and flatten out those unruly top layers.
Style Effortlessly: We switched to the Airstyle Pro using the flat brush and round attachments. It gives you the control of a blow-dryer and brush in one simple toolâperfect if you struggle with classic blow-dry technique!
The result? A far sleeker, high-shine finish that controls frizz and seamlessly blends those growing-out layers. Proof that you donât need a 10-step routine or expert brush skills to get a salon-polished look every single day.

Getting your dream hair comes down to one thing: working with a colourist who can truly translate your vision into reality.
In this video, colour expert works with Sarah at Josh Wood London to craft the ultimate lived-in, low-maintenance look.
The goal? Finding that sweet spot right in the middle, neither too warm and brassy, nor too dull and ashy. Just seamless, effortless colour that grows out beautifully.

Is your hair behaving completely differently, but youâre still trying to style it the way you used to?
In this video, Helen opens up about how her once-silky-smooth hair shifted to a wavy, slightly coarser texture with menopause.
Itâs so easy to stay in denial when our hair changes over time. But when we get stuck fighting our natural texture and forcing old routines, we miss out on making the most of what our hair can do now. The key isnât fighting the changeâitâs adapting to it.
If this is something that has affected you, do like and follow for the full tutorial next week! Weâll be embracing Helenâs new natural waves to create an easy, effortless style that takes very little time and hardly any tools at all.

Slower mornings, sea air, good coffee (always!)⌠exactly the change of pace I needed. More to comeâŚ.
Somebody recently asked me how to press a wave into shorter hair, and I immediately thought of Claireâs âcool girlâ style that we created earlier this year.
Claire wanted something low maintenance that she wasnât forever running to the hair salon to have to keep up, both in colour and in shape.
The beauty of the style we decided upon will mean she can wash and go - or elevate her look using a tong for special occasions.
Let me know your thoughts on Claireâs transformation below đ Would you consider going shorter? And what kind of styles do you tend to err towards when going out?
