Why does pigmentation keep coming back? 🤔
If you've cleared your pigmentation before and watched it return, this one's for you.
Pigmentation isn't always just about the pigment you can see. Sun gets blamed most often — but visible light, hormones, heat, irritation, and even skincare that's too harsh for your skin can all be drivers too.
This matters even more in skin of colour, because irritation can trigger inflammation — and inflammation can trigger more pigmentation.
So when a patient comes to me wanting pigmentation treated, I'm not just looking at what's visible. I'm asking: why is it there? Is this post-acne marks? Hormonal? Melasma?
Treating the pigment without understanding the driver is only half the picture. That's the difference between a quick fix and a proper pigmentation plan built around your overall skin health.
📌 Save this if recurring pigmentation is your ongoing frustration
💬 Tell us — sun, hormones, or skincare — what do you think triggers yours?

Pico laser: what's it actually doing to your skin? đź’š
Not all lasers work the same way — and for melanin-rich skin, that difference matters more than most people realise.
Pico laser uses ultra-short pulses to create a photoacoustic effect, shattering pigment into particles your body clears naturally — with far less reliance on heat. Why does that matter? Because heat drives inflammation, and in darker skin tones, inflammation can trigger more pigmentation, not less. If you have melasma, heat is exactly what feeds it.
But Pico isn't just for pigmentation — depending on how it's used, it can also target uneven tone, texture, and stimulate collagen.
The real question isn't "can I have laser?" It's: what are we treating, is this the right laser for my skin, and how do we do it safely?
This is Part 1 of our Pico Explained series 🔬 Follow along as we break down energy-based treatments for skin of colour, properly.
📌 Save this for later

Treating skin of colour requires precision, patience, and a deep understanding of cellular response. Aggressive, harsh chemical peels can trigger post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation on richer skin tones, often leaving dark spots worse than before. That is why Dr Nasrina strictly prioritises slow, barrier-safe clinical protocols and specialised biostimulators designed to restore skin health without compromising safety. Safe. Doctor-led. Purpose-built for skin of colour. 🤍 Tap the link in our bio to book your consultation with Dr Nasrina!

Curious about aesthetics… but something keeps stopping you?
Maybe you’re worried about looking “done”.
Maybe it’s the needles.
Maybe you have melanin-rich skin and you’re worried about pigmentation or how your skin might respond.
Or maybe you simply don’t know where to begin.
Here’s what I want you to know: being curious about aesthetic treatments doesn’t mean you have to have one.
At Dr Noor Aesthetics, we start with a conversation. We talk about what’s bothering you, what you’d like to achieve, your medical history, your individual needs and whether treatment is appropriate for you.
Sometimes, the right decision may be to do nothing at all.
No pressure. No one-size-fits-all approach.
Your face. Your choice. Your pace. 🤎
Save this if you’ve been quietly considering aesthetics but haven’t felt ready yet.

Stop popping your pimples! 🛑⚡

When you squeeze a blemish, you push bacteria and inflammation deeper into the dermis. This not only delays healing, but also damages your skin barrier, leading to post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation and permanent scarring.
Instead of popping, choose clinical care:

Apply a targeted spot treatment or pimple patch to absorb impurities.
Avoid touching or picking the area.

Book a professional extraction or chemical peel to safely clear congestion.
Tag that friend who needs to step away from the mirror! 👇
