There's a Britpop walking tour....
Do you remember the first time? Why Britpop nostalgia just won’t go away Robbie Williams has named his new album after it, there’s a new play about the Oasis and Blur rivalry, an avalanche of books, fashion lines … and even a Britpop lager

"I'm still alive...eeeyeye.."Quiten down, Eddie Vedder. This is a Britpop account, we'll have none of your Grunge here! ;-) Seriously, sorry for the hiatus. I've been on a social media break but the tour is still going strong! Thanks for all those who have braved the Camden cold this month.

Stuart Maconie's take on nostalgia in the New Statesman is worth a read. I don't agree with a few things he says...
Even though the scene was white and male, the fans certainly we're. We were a mixed bunch who just liked the music.
£50 a gram or private members clubs were out of the question for us, more like copious amount of cheap lager and ligging on guest lists.
Yes, we had been under Tory rule for a very long time but there was optimism back then. We are definately living in darker times and the cynic in me view the reunions are more of an attempt to feather nests than revive the scene. However, I'm not complaining.
When I say 'nest feathering', that is no criticism of the bands themselves. Making money out of music sales is touch these days and its understandable that they will want to make up for the pandemic years. I just hope this revival gives a bit of a lift fo the lesser known bands on the scene such as David Devant & His Spirit Wife and My Life Story, as well as unknown new bands. Is there a NeoBritpop scene out there?
The Britpop nostalgia complex The writer who christened the genre watched its droll ingenuity become boorish excess. Is it ripe for resurrection?
