While summers getting hotter temperatures are rising. Cold showers and scrubs are still one of my favourite things.
Exfoliating my skin in summer is a great way to maintain a healthy and glowing body. The warm weather and increased humidity during this season can lead to sweat, oil, and dead skin cells accumulating on the surface of your skin. Exfoliation helps to remove these impurities, unclog pores, and promote cell turnover, resulting in smoother more radiant skin.

Exfoliate regularly: Depending on your skin's sensitivity, exfoliating 1-3 times a week is generally sufficient. However, if you have sensitive skin, start with once a week and gradually increase frequency if your skin tolerates it well. Over-exfoliating can strip away the skin's natural oils and disrupt its moisture barrier.

Be gentle: When exfoliating, use gentle, circular motions with your fingertips or a soft natural cotton washcloth on the face. I love a natural scrub brush for the body and the larger areas. Avoid applying too much pressure, as it can cause micro-tears in the skin. Treat your skin with care and be mindful of any signs of irritation or redness.

Exfoliation can temporarily disrupt the skin's moisture balance, it's essential to replenish hydration using our hydrating face serum after exfoliating to lock in moisture and keep your skin nourished. My favourite is our Earth Song with ylang ylang & cedarwood, very smooth with smoky head notes or kisses from the angels scent, Universal Bliss, selected as finalist in the UK & EU Natural Products Award 2022. What’s so great about the coming of spring?
