I’m really excited to be exhibiting some brand new Wallhangings Daisy Macleod in Bristol this September through till November.
Daisy’s beautiful shop imports mid century Scandinavian furniture which is then restored in Bristol and given a new lease of life.
We first met many years ago when Daisy lived in London and we used to print and work together. I can’t wait to put the wallhangings up in her gorgeous shop!

Fantastic group at today’s “Botanical Screen Printing workshop”
Lots of creative ideas of overlaying and exploring cut shapes printed over botanical reliefs. Despite the drought in London we found plenty to print with and had loads of fun.
Check out the workshops lined up for the rest of the year through the link in my bio.

Yesterday I struck textile gold!
When in Normandie I am always on the lookout for vintage linens to use as a base for my screen printed designs. Their texture, amazing quality and history give an added depth and softness which I love.
When out getting bits for a picnic in the local super market I spotted a sign for a house clearance in a nearby village. When we arrived the beautiful house struck us all, it had a huge fountain in the front garden and a beautiful wrap around garden. Three generations of women greeted us and welcomed us into their home. In the front room they had a pile of linens which I dove straight into.
Next to the linens a framed panel of unpainted wall was inscribed with the names and details of the Belgium soldiers who had stayed here during the liberation of France in the Second World War. A poignant reminder of the local history.
I spoke with the ladies about my work and how I would use their great grandmothers sheets (many of which she had darned or stitched) with love and care. They had each taken a set as a memento but said there were simply too many for them to keep and they were excited to think that a part of their families collection would become something else entirely and have a new lease of life through my work.
I’m so excited to get printing in August and make some new wallhangings for a show in Bristol Daisy Macleod in September. More to come on this soon!

An amazing day at the local “vide grenier” which is a local street fair here in Normandie where people sell their old things.
This is very much my happy place…looking at all the old objects, designs, colours and ephemera. I spoke to loads of lovely people and found some vintage linens to make into wallhangings when I am back in London. The one pictured here is such a beautiful heavy weight linen with a pink broderie anglaise which I’ve never seen before!

A bit of a special commission for one of my lovely customers where I screen printed my Lightening bolt print and worked with a local upholsterer who made this beautifully engineered bench seat.
It’s so great to be able to print the fabric, cycle over to who then works her magic and then receive photos of the finished bench.
Here are some images of the finished bench and of the fabric being screen printed in my studio. For any furniture/reupholstery inquiries please do get in touch.

One of my favourite wallhangings has sold this morning so here is a little more detail about it.
I found the vintage linens last summer whilst staying at my great grandparents house by the sea in Normandie. The partly stitched fuscia sampler and monogram linen stood out with their little flashes of colour amid the cream tones.
I screen printed both pieces in my studio and love the way the ink and pattern interact with the stitched areas tinting them with colour.
They were then stitched together slightly off set to break the rhythm of the print and give the piece its own identity.
Thanks to FORNO - LEYTONSTONE for showcasing my wallhangings this month.

Fantastic botanical workshop in the studio today. Lots of energy and great creative ideas.
Despite the heat, ink drying and paper sticking everyone produced beautiful prints. It’s so fascinating to see how differently people approach layout and the new and exciting effects that surprise and delight!
