You can spoil a client’s wig if you don’t understand this…

It’s very important you know where and how to place your single, double, and even triple wefts as the case may be. But it all boils down to several factors like the quantity of bundles, your client’s head circumference, and their personal preference; if they prefer a high, medium, or low-density wig.

So you don’t just go sowing wefts on the cap, if you have not done a proper weft mapping.

I used to hand-stitch every wig I made...

It did work, but then I realised I was spending far too much time on a process that could be made much more efficient.

Switching to a sewing machine completely changed my wigmaking process. I can now stitch wefts more quickly, achieve a more consistent finish, and spend less time on repetitive stitching without compromising the quality of my work.

The bobbin plays a very key role in wigmaking, it’s like the hidden backbone of the machine threading system. It holds the lower thread that works together with the upper thread to create a strong, secure stitch.

So, when the thread isn’t wound evenly onto your bobbin or the bobbin isn’t inserted correctly, your stitching can quickly create problems like uneven stitches, loose threads, tangled threads…and your frustration begins 😩

But you definitely want those stitches to be neat, secure and consistent.

That’s why understanding your bobbin is just as important as knowing how to thread the machine.
