I say this with all my heart: if you want to get extremely good at nails, you need to:
➡️ Take the pink glasses off.
➡️Follow as many other nail techs as you can—especially those from other countries where the standards are elite.
➡️Compare your work. Be brutally honest. Go to many courses . This is the only way.
Most clients who seek out "cheap" nails are actually the perfect match for a beginner; they don’t know any better, so they are happy with what they get. But you can't stay in that cycle forever if you want to grow.

⚠️Once you start training your eyes to see the flaws, you can’t unsee them. And once your work becomes truly flawless, you won’t want to charge as low as the others anymore. You’ll gain a new level of professional confidence, and with that energy, you will naturally attract the clients who are specifically searching for the best and are ready to pay for it.
‼️Then you will be able to charge premium prices without worrying about what others think. You’ll realize that while some people genuinely don’t see the difference, the ones who do are the ones who will keep your business thriving. 💎✨

Do you think the salon is toxic or is that a normal practice?

The salon owner thinks: I invested in this girl, in her education, in getting her clients. She came for a few months to build up her client base from the salon's reputation and marketing expenses and now she got what she wanted so she leaves and we have to start over with a new person

The nail tech thinks: I am the one doing the nails and talking to the clients, they come for me so I can take them

“You are too anxious. You can’t do anything by yourself.”
That’s what I was told when my last relationship ended.

I’ve now been single for four years.

In those four years, I’ve relocated twice. Bought a flat. Transitioned from nail technician to educator. Won awards. Taught more than 9000 nail techs to be more profitable. Travelled to countries I’d never been to before. Taken amazing care of my dog. Booked the appointments I was terrified of and still showed up to them alone. Won funding for my business. And now I’m preparing another flat to become an Airbnb even though the pressure and anxiety have had me in tears.

So yes, I can do things by myself.

I just don’t want to have to do every single thing by myself.

Wanting your partner to step up and take the car for an oil change because you don’t want one more thing on your shoulders doesn’t make you incapable. Wanting support doesn’t make you weak. And being anxious doesn’t mean you can’t build an incredible life.

I’ve proved that I can carry everything alone.

But I still pray that God sends me a man like my dad, a man who treats his woman like a princess and makes her feel safe enough not to carry the whole world by herself. 🩷

In a world full of paid ads it's hard to distinguish what is actually good anymore. So when I saw my friend in person I wanted her recommendation but she didn't seem to want to share. Why do some girls gatekeep? What's gonna happen if you just tell me what you use? 😅
Oh well, nevermind, I'll just find out for all of us.
