THE POWER OF PEPTIDES

You’ll have heard about Peptides. They regularly appear in our skincare products.

But what are they, and what do they do?

Peptides are short chains of amino acids, acting as the building blocks for our vital skin proteins.

They act as a kind of messenger in skincare, prompting skin to repair damage and boost collagen and elastin production. All of which help promote healthy, supple and more resilient skin.

Vertical lip lines (or barcode lines)

These are a common bugbear for many patients. But depending on the depth of these lines (the earlier you begin to address them, the better the results will be) I can fill these tiny lines very superficially and naturally.

I use my special technique, using tiny micro dots of light dermal filler, that integrate naturally with the movement of the lips.

If it's a natural look that is desired, it's all about light and shade. In certain lights, we can look more beautiful. And in others, the shadows cast can be quite unbecoming.

The perfect placement of dermal fillers is key here. I have learned how to play with the light and shade, using tiny amounts of filler to project at exactly the right spot to enhance the face.

I qualified as a Registered Nurse in 1997. The first photo shows me in 2004, working in a very busy paediatric A&E dept.

Fast forward to 2026 - with a facial aesthetics career of over 20 years behind me. How time flies!
