When you do the best keratin treatment already, how does it get any better??

Well it just has!. I am now using a new amino acid straightening treatment from the same company. This means, like the keratin you will have soft, straight, shiny, frizz free hair but with no fumes!!!. Hallelujah, no need for the back door to be open now! 🥶😂

And you still walk out of my salon ‘done’. None of that waiting for 3 days malarkey!

Lots of yellow highlights or even highlights that once the toner has faded looks yellow, is NOT grey blending.

When you are trying to grow out your grey, it’s really important that the colour you have blends with the greys!

It doesn’t mean that everyone has to be steel grey or silver but even the warmer tones have to be soft, muted and seamless.

My lovely client as we finished her 2nd appointment. She had felt during the first 4 weeks since her 1st appointment that she had got used to the grey coming through, now that it didn’t look like such a stripe!

So we worked on more tiny lights to blend in the grey but also worked on the depth and dimension of her hair using a demi as although we want to see the grey grow through, she still wants to identify as a shiny brunette!.
We decided on an ashier toner than last time as she was embracing the silver!.

I recommended to her that she starts using the light silver shine shampoo straight away that was in her recommended product bag but I also gave her a sample of icy blonde ‘black’ shampoo that is a bit stronger, to see which one she prefers!

She told me she loves all the products that were given to her as part of her transformation so that was excellent news!

Don’t ask me why I thought of Cilla Black! But there, I did! 😂

Lots of foils, tiny weaves, light and dark for dimension. Foiling has always been my favourite thing to do so now a half head takes me 2.5 hours to do! I’m happy and I have always been very patient 😇

I have some new highlighting wraps from to try!. All the way from Canada 🇨🇦 So keep an eye out for those! 👀

So this is what I call progress!. My lovely transformation client just before we start her 2nd apt, 4 weeks from the 1st appointment.

The line of demarcation is hardly showing, which I wasn’t really expecting after just one application but hey I trained with the best 🙌🏼

Not looking brassy so my tiny little highlights were saturated enough and lifted up to the right level.

And finally a little win for my client!. No need for root spray!!! Say what??. That little spray is never far away when you have the dreaded root!

My client said she has got quite used to the grey seamlessly blended in the last 4 weeks so there has been no need to use any of the spray!

It’s a win win!. In this next appointment we are going to concentrate on more definition with the brunette side of things and carry on with blending in them greys for an effortless grow out!

The 1st appointment is trying to blend the line of demarcation (the stripe!) and toning down the warmth.

My client here wants to still identify as a brunette for now! 😉. She is a beautiful, professional woman and wants to look her best whilst making the transition to a grey blended result.

3 hours of foiling, the tiniest of tiniest weaves. Working through the top, the sides and the crown first. Expert grey blenders have patience in abundance!.
Then a root tap and a toner to match her colour analysis.

A great first appointment done ✅

Why?. I’m not saying it can’t be done with less regrowth but it’s always great to be able to see the growth patterns of your greys and your natural hair.

This gives us the perfect blend from the off rather than guessing!. Also with only 1/2 inch growth, the stripe will be harder to blend.

I also think it’s good to start seeing how you are feeling about the grey too and whether you think a fully natural result is for you or a midground.

And there’s always root spray until we can start!

Grey blending means more than just going grey!

Some people still identify as a brunette or a blonde at the end of their transformation, they just have more silver strands through their hair and not that dreaded root!

Some people want to go natural but as we do, they are not quite ready for it and decide on a midground!.

Some people embrace their grey more than they thought they would!
