"Crowned in Purpose" was never just a business name and here is why Jesus will always be at the centre of it all. βœοΈπŸ‘‡πŸ½

πŸ‘‘ 1. Because Crowned in Purpose was born from a reminder that I was made for more.

When I started Crowned in Purpose, I was coming out of a really dark season of my life. I was struggling mentally, questioning myself and honestly didn’t know what my future was going to look like.

But in that season, God reminded me that my life had purpose. That I was made for more. And that became the heart behind the name.

Our hair is like a crown: something we carry with us, something that deserves to be cared for and embraced. But Crowned in Purpose goes beyond hair. It’s about knowing that you are crowned by God and choosing to walk in the purpose He has placed on your life.

And for me, part of that purpose is serving others.

πŸ‘‘ 2. Because I’ve learned that this business cannot run on my strength alone.

I’ve experienced what it feels like to be on the edge of burnout. To try to carry everything, make every decision, fix every problem and keep pushing because I felt like it all depended on me.

But God has had to teach me that this business was never meant to be built on my strength alone. I don’t want to build something that looks successful on the outside but is draining me on the inside.

So I’m learning to surrender it. To pray over my decisions. To trust Him with the parts I cannot control. Because ultimately, everything I do is for His glory.. not mine. βœοΈπŸ™ŒπŸ½

πŸ‘‘ 3. Because Jesus isn’t something I want to hide away.

I want to break the idea that we have to keep our faith and our business completely separate. Jesus isn’t a private little part of my life that I need to hide because I’m scared of what people might think.

I have a relationship with Him that I’m proud of. That doesn’t mean I’m here to force my faith onto anyone. I believe everyone has their own journey, their own beliefs and their own choices.

But I also won’t shrink mine to make other people comfortable.

There is someone for everyone.. and my someone will always begin and end with Jesus. 🀍

Don't mind me. Just came home from work, looking all funny πŸ˜‚but had to share this with you guys.. Coming from just a girl who decided to listen to God's voice and walk in her Godly purpose, to now being a double award finalist! πŸ₯ΉπŸ€―

Don't sleep on yourself or your talents. If God has given you a pulse, you still got a purpose to fulfill!

Thank you to all of you beautiful people for supporting me in any way. Words will never describe my gratitude πŸ™πŸ½πŸ™ŒπŸ½

So honoured to be a finalist in the category "Best Afro Hair Stylist" because I remember the days where I didn't find a single salon that understood my hair and just called it frizzy.. and now I help others loving their natural crown. πŸŒ€πŸ‘‘

I have been nominated as a finalist for Afro Hair Stylist of the year. πŸ₯ΉπŸ‘‘βœ¨

When I started Crowned in Purpose in 2020, I had no idea where this journey would take me. I was just a 21-year-old opening my first salon in the middle of a pandemic, in a new city, with no idea what the future would look like. I just knew I had a passion for hair, a heart for people and a desire to create a space where people would feel confident to embrace their natural crown.

Since then, I’ve worked with thousands of beautiful people, continuously educated myself, stepped outside of my comfort zone, closed a business I had built from the ground up, moved countries, only to then start the whole journey all over again.

It was far from easy, but somehow, here I am… being recognised for something that means so much to me. πŸ₯Ή This nomination is not just about a title, it's a reminder of how far God has carried me.

It’s for every client who trusted me with their hair. Every person who sat in my chair and allowed me to be a part of their journey. But also for every lesson and every single time I thought about quitting, yet chose to keep going. It's for all of us who once felt insecure and now have blossomed into who we are (and still becoming) today. If I can only inspire ONE person with my testimony, then I know I've done what my brand represents: walking in purpose. πŸ™πŸ½πŸ€

I’m soooooo incredibly grateful!!!! Words can not even describe.

Thank you to everyone who has supported me, booked with me, recommended me, shared my work, encouraged me and believed in my business. Crowned In Purpose is nothing without it's community! πŸ₯Ή

Thank you Jesus. πŸ™ŒπŸ½

If your last haircut has been over 6 months, then it might be time to book a new appointment. 🀭

Dutchies, who’s ready for round 3?

Can’t wait to see some familiar faces again! πŸ₯ΉπŸ«ΆπŸ½

But I guess the real flex is knowing that I can still do both because of the amazing clients I've got. πŸ₯ΉπŸ€πŸ«ΆπŸ½

Yes. I moved abroad for love. And even though I’m certainly not the first person to do it, people still ask me, β€œWhy?”

So, why has it been worth it? πŸ“

Because moving abroad introduced me to a version of myself I hadn’t met before.

A version that stepped out in faith, trusted God with the unknown and believed I could start again.

It taught me that you’re never too old to rebuild. That the gifts God has given you don’t belong to one place. I had built a successful business once, so moving countries didn’t mean leaving that part of myself behind. It simply meant I had to believe I could build again.

But more than anything, it taught me what home really means.

I believe God created husband and wife to become one. And to me, home isn’t a city, an apartment or a postcode. Home is wherever I am with the person I love.

After two years of long distance, I didn’t want to spend another minute counting down the days, falling asleep together on FaceTime only to wake up knowing another goodbye was coming. I just wanted to do life with my husband.

Moving also gave us the opportunity to start over together. A new city, a new home and a new chapter. Being able to buy a home together was one of the reasons I chose to move instead of asking him to leave everything he had built behind.

It was far from easy. And honestly, it still isn’t.

But it makes all the difference when you’re with someone who chooses you too, every single day.

He never stops reminding me how grateful he is for the sacrifices I made. And when I couldn’t find a job and felt like I had completely failed, he reminded me that I wasn’t failing. I was simply starting again. And starting again takes time.

So yes, I gave up a lot to move abroad for love. But I gained so much more from it in return.

And if I had to make the choice all over again, I’d still choose him.
Because through every season and every high and low, he never stops choosing me too. πŸ₯ΉπŸ«ΆπŸ½
