From the perspective of both the stylist and the client, this configuration (150 DEs distributed across 50 dot bases with 3 pieces per section) has several notable features:
* Scalp tension: Distributing 150 pieces across 50 dot bases means each natural strand supports three dreads at once. It is essential for the stylist to assess the density and health of the client's natural hair, as dot installation creates localized tension.
* Wearer comfort: Due to the micro-format, the set is much more flexible, softer, and more mobile compared to classic thick DE-dreads. It is easier to pull into updo styles and conforms to the head shape more naturally.
* Installation time: The fact that the installation time is comparable to standard sets comes down to a balance: while there are significantly more individual pieces (150 instead of the standard 50–60), experienced stylists often work quickly with micro-textures on dot bases thanks to refined hand mechanics.
The final result looks highly detailed and textured, closely mimicking natural, hand-crafted dreadlocks.
