Yoga can help improve your mental, physical & emotional states. I aim to pass these benefits to youπ

Hello people of Thanet, Iβm Chris, a local Yoga teacher! π
If youβve ever felt too stiff for yoga, too stressed to quiet your mind, or just unsure where to start, I want you to know you are in exactly the right place.
I discovered yoga when I was searching for something to help me out of my mental hole, and to find balance, clarity, and strength. It completely transformed how I connect with my body and helped me quiet my mind.
Now, my absolute passion is guiding others on that exact same journey to well-being.Over the last half-decade, Iβve taught more than 1,400 classes. My approach is modern, practical, and heavily rooted in anatomy. I don't care if you can't touch your toes, I focus on individuality and creating a supportive, welcoming space where you can release stress, build confidence, and find inner peace.
I run friendly, community-based classes right here in Broadstairs & Margate. If you've been meaning to try yoga, Iβd love to welcome you into my little community with a new offer: 30 Days of Unlimited Yoga for just Β£30. This offer is specifically designed to help you establish a powerful new habit which could change your life (it did mine!).

π F**K IT FRIDAY
How much time do we spend worrying about what other people think of us?
"What will they think?"
"Am I doing this right?"
"Do I look stupid?"
"What if people judge me?"
And the one thing everyone probably has in common is that they are too busy worrying about what others think of them, we spend so much time inside our own heads that we forget if everyone else is doing exactly the same thing, then they are not worrying about us.
So maybe today is a good day to say: f**k it.
Stop worrying quite so much about what everyone else might think.
Be yourself.
Try the thing.
Have a wobble.
Look a bit silly.
Laugh at yourself.
You might just discover that life gets a whole lot more enjoyable when you stop trying to perform it perfectly. π

One Pose Wednesday β Vrkshasana (Tree Pose) π³
Tree Pose is one of those poses that can look deceptively simple⦠until you try it!
It's not really about standing perfectly still. It's about finding your balance, noticing when you wobble, and gently finding your way back.
I forgot to mention in the vid: find a still point to focus on too this will help you balance!
Feel your feet.
Find your focus.
Breathe.
And don't worry if you wobble.
That's part of the practice.
And perhaps that's a useful reminder outside of yoga too. You don't have to be perfectly balanced all of the time. Sometimes you just need to have a little wobble before finding your way back to a sense of calm.
If you're new to yoga, don't worry about being able to do the "perfect" Tree Pose. That's exactly what practising is for.

Tricky Tuesday!
Focus on one thing... and let your brain do the rest!
Balance isn't necessarily about trying really hard not to fall.
Sometimes it's about finding a point for your gaze, feeling the three points underneath your foot and then letting your brain work things out.
I think our minds work in a similar way: we can't force our thoughts to disappear. The harder we try to stop thinking, the more thoughts we often create.
But when we give our attention to one thing, our breath, our gaze, or the feeling underneath our feet, things can become just a little bit clearer.
So next time you're struggling with your balance, don't fight it.
Focus on one thing... and let your brain do the rest. π§ββοΈ

Mindset Monday: Accountability
One of the biggest things teaching yoga has given me is accountability.
No matter how I'm feeling, I know people are expecting me to show up.
And every single time, I leave feeling better than when I arrived, especially on the hard days.
Sometimes the hardest part isn't the yoga...
It's simply turning up.
Having someone to encourage you, whether that's a friend, a teacher or a class you're committed to, can make all the difference.
If you've been waiting for the "perfect time" to start, maybe don't wait.
Take the first step, and let someone help you keep going. π

8 years ago, yoga became the first step on what has turned out to be a journey of self-discovery.
Over the years I've learned so much, but one thing has become very clear...
Yoga teachers aren't therapists or counsellors, and we shouldn't pretend to be.
What we can do is create a space where people feel calmer, more connected, and a little better than when they arrived.
Sometimes yoga is exactly what someone needs.
Sometimes the next step is talking to a friend.
Sometimes it's therapy.
Whatever your next step is, don't be afraid to take it.
Looking after yourself is never something to be ashamed of. π
And give yourself permission to feel good about whatever it is that you need to do for yourself right now.

π Thoughtful Thursday
Our minds spend so much of the day running on autopilot.
Sometimes we don't even realise how busy our thoughts have become until we stop for a moment.
I wanted to share a simple breathing exercise that you can use whenever life feels a little overwhelming or if you just need to reconnect yourself.
I this little practice helps and let me know if you found it helpful. π
Also you can come practice with me, this was filmed in the Vale Church hall where I teach in Broadstaors on a Thursday evening.

π One Pose Wednesday β Tadasana (Mountain Pose):
Sometimes the simplest poses are the most powerful.
Today I wanted to share Tadasana, or Mountain Pose.
Standing tall, grounding your feet and opening your chest can completely change how you feel.
When we stand with confidence, breathe deeply and become present, we often feel calmer and more capable too.
Take 30 seconds today to stand tall, breathe deeply and reconnect with yourself.
Sometimes that's all we need. π
If you'd like to learn more in a friendly, beginner-focused class, I'd love to welcome you.
