🌿 SERENITY SKINCARE DIDN’T BEGIN WITH A BUSINESS PLAN…

It began with a question—more than 20 years ago.
One evening, I turned over a jar of night cream and read the ingredients list…..Or at least, I tried to.

I didn’t recognise most of the names. I didn’t know what they were, why they were there or what they were doing to my skin.

Being the inquisitive person that I am, I began researching and educating myself.

What I discovered completely changed the way I looked at skincare.

I had spent years paying for products that promised younger-looking, healthier skin—yet many formulations seemed to focus heavily on fragrance, texture, appearance and extending shelf life.

I began questioning whether the products I was using were genuinely supporting my skin or simply offering a temporary cosmetic effect.

I also couldn’t understand why I sometimes burned despite wearing and reapplying the highest factor in Sunscreen?

That led me to learn more about sun protection, correct application, individual skin sensitivity and the different ingredients used in skincare.

The further I researched, the more convinced I became that I wanted a simpler and more transparent approach.

That was where the idea behind Serenity Skincare was born.

I looked back at the natural ingredients that have been valued across cultures and generations—botanical oils, plant butters, herbs, flowers and waxes—and began exploring how they could be used to nourish and support the skin.

This post isn’t about scaremongering, and it certainly isn’t about telling you what you must use.

Natural does not automatically mean it’s suitable for everyone, and every ingredient should still be properly researched and used responsibly.

This is about encouraging you to become curious.
