✨ One final goodbye… ✨

Well, I think I can finally say it… Nails by Erika has officially come to an end. 🥹💅🏼

I finished with my last clients on the 31st August and yesterday I had my first day in my new job — which has made it all feel very real!

After 8 years in the beauty industry, it feels so strange knowing I won’t be picking up my nail brush, sitting behind my desk and chatting away to all of you anymore. What started as a job became such a huge part of my life, and so many of you became much more than just clients.

I genuinely cannot thank every single person enough for supporting me over the years. Thank you for every appointment, every conversation, every laugh, every joke, every cup of tea, every recommendation, every message and every bit of support. You’ve listened to me through the good times and the not-so-good times, and I’ve loved hearing all about your lives too. 🥹❤️

And to those who may never have actually sat in my nail chair but have followed my journey, liked, shared, commented and supported my little business from the sidelines — thank you too. It has meant more than you probably realise.

Walking away was such a difficult decision, but I know it’s the right time for a new chapter. I’m excited for what’s ahead, but I’ll always look back at this chapter with so much love and pride.

Thank you for 8 incredible years. Thank you for trusting me with your nails, but more importantly, thank you for becoming such a lovely part of my life💖

This is officially my final post as Nails by Erika… and although I’m ready for what’s next, I’m going to miss you all more than I can put into words♥️

So, now I have had the time to share this with all my clients personally, I finally feel ready to share this with everyone...

After a lot of thought, I've made the difficult decision to step away from my nail business!

This isn't an easy goodbye because being a nail technician has been so much more than just doing nails. Over the years I've had the pleasure of meeting so many amazing people, sharing laughs, cries, listening to your stories, and building genuine friendships that I'll always be grateful for.

To every single client who has supported me, recommended me, trusted me with your nails, and kept my little business going – thank you from the bottom of my heart. Your loyalty, kindness and encouragement have meant more to me than you'll ever know.

I'd also like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has supported my business from afar. Whether you've liked, shared or commented on my posts, recommended me to others, or simply cheered me on over the years, you've played such a big part in helping my little business grow. Every interaction, no matter how small it may have seemed, has meant so much to me!

It's been an incredible chapter of my life, and I'll always look back on it with so much pride and gratitude. Although it's time for me to move on to a new chapter for now, the memories and friendships I've made will stay with me forever.

If you’ve ever wondered why nail techs panic when the UK gets a heatwave… this is why 😂☀️

Most salons don’t have air conditioning.

Most gels are designed to work in much temperatures than 30°C+ meaning when it’s sweltering, they’re impossible to work with 💧

Add in lamps, dust extractors and a few people in a small room and some salons become actual ovens.

When gel gets too warm it becomes runnier, harder to control, more likely to flood the skin and generally doesn’t behave how it’s supposed to.

The UK simply isn’t designed for heatwaves.

So if you’re a nail tech and you need to move clients, reduce your hours, work earlier, work later, or just rearrange appointments until it’s cooler, do it.

No set of nails is worth heatstroke or spending 3 hours fighting with gel that has the consistency of water 😭💅🏼🔥
