My lovely client said something in her consultation I hear a lot:

“Everyone always recommends a dark brown pencil for me, but they never look right.”

It’s an obvious choice, she has dark brown hair. But here’s the thing…

Colour theory isn’t just about matching hair to pigment.
Her natural brow hairs were:
➡️ Super fine and slightly lighter than her hair
➡️ Uniformly sparse (so you can see skin between hairs)
➡️ Set against slightly olive-toned skin
All of these factors change how colour appears once healed.

By choosing a DARK BLONDE pigment instead of dark brown, we achieved that soft, natural “your brows but better” look, enhancing her features without overpowering them. When selecting pigment shades, I don’t just look at hair colour. I look at density, undertone, and light reflection on the skin. It’s not one-size-fits-all, it’s custom artistry.
