Hi, my name’s Jenni – stationery lover, self-taught book binder, maker of paper and leather things, captain of The Craft Fantastic! I love upcycling and reusing materials to create small batches of unique handmade items. My upcycled leather has all been rescued; I use it to make notebooks and journals, then with the rest of the off cuts I make mini books, bookmarks and pencil cases. Along with thi

A while ago, I got a stash of leather offcuts from - a bundle sustainably sourced from leftover stock from the Northampton shoe industry; delightfully scuffed edges, lightly marked, full of character. Perfect for my leather-wrap journals.

Check out that spine stack 📚

Over the next couple of weeks we’ll be posting more information about our Community Garden Open Day, which takes place two weeks from today, on Saturday 13th June, at the Tove Valley Centre in Towcester.

First up, crafters and stallholders!

We are delighted that Jenni, from The Craft Fantastic, will be with us showcasing her wares. Rescued leather, salvaged from the waste stream by businesses and craftspeople to create new sustainable products, diverts thousands of tons of scrap offcuts, deadstock, and trimmings from going into landfill. Jenni is one such artisan, who repurposes leather to create bespoke items specifically tailored for "bookish" interests, such as hand-bound journals, bookmarks, and book necklaces. Whilst sustainability is a core ethos of her brand, first and foremost she is about showcasing the intrinsic beauty of traditional handmade craftsmanship, focusing on the tangible, unique value of items produced one by one, rather than in mass production.
Please come along and see the wonderful selection of products she has for sale.

Not long now until our Open Day at the Community Garden, so be sure to mark the date on your calendars and watch this space for more details about the activities that will be on offer and the crafters who will be coming along.

Today is National Notebook Day. I love physical notebooks, journals, and planners; there's something about the possibilities of a blank page. Doodles? Lyrics? Lists? Sketches? Anything you want. The process of creating something that will go on to be filled with someone's creativity is ✨️
