The Quack Shack

❤️WONKY❤️ Ohhh my heart! So if you have been following wonkys story...she had horrendous wry neck and could not even hold her head up, it was completely twisted upside-down...the 3rd 4th & 5th photos are what she was like.
Its been a very intense few weeks of vitamin treatment, neck massages and care...but today...works went outside to play...fully upright!
She may have a few little residual side effects but on the whole...well shes a little legend.
Shes stolen my heart entirly and having to hand feed her has made her such a special chicken to me now. At some point im going to have to let her go out full time and be a proper chicken...not quite yet...im not ready ❤️ but I am so so so proud of her and her resilience! Love you Wonks. Well done

⚡️ZIGGY⚡️ Yesterday I welcomed 6 young ducks in, their mum had been hit by a car, and In the panic they fell down the drain. So they have been raised by a lovely family but outgrew the situation. But this little lady....well...she is a bit special. The family had called her Sqwonk, but I feel ziggy fits her. She has a wonky beak, now at the moment this isnt causing her issues and hopefully it wont in the future...but as she grows the beak can become more twisted. So its somrthing i will be keeping an eye on closely. But she already has stolen my heart and is so sassy and loud. Love her. All 6 will be staying in the hospital for 2 weeks then once they have the quarantine all clear, will join the gang.

🦆 Help Us Help Them – The Quack Shack Fundraiser 🐔🦃

https://app.collectionpot.com/pot/3554987

As many of you know, The Quack Shack is completely self-funded. We take in birds that are injured, unwanted, abandoned or simply have nowhere else to go, and we do everything we can to give them the care they deserve.

Unfortunately, right now we have several animals needing veterinary care at the same time, alongside some important preparations we need to make for the whole flock.

So, as much as we hate asking, we need a little help. ❤️

Money raised will go towards:

❤️ CHARLEE – Charlee needs leg surgery, and we want to give her the best possible chance of being comfortable and mobile.

💙 HUEY – Huey needs to see the vet to have problems with his knees investigated and find out what treatment he may need.

💜 WONKY – Our Wonky needs ongoing healthcare and treatment, and we want to continue giving her everything she needs for as long as she needs it.

🩵 TAILS – After being hit by a car, Tails needs a further appointment to assess his leg and make sure we're doing everything possible for his recovery.

🦃 A TURKEY HOUSE – We need to build suitable accommodation for our turkeys so that they have a safe, secure place if another Avian Influenza housing order (“flockdown”) is introduced. Apparently Gary and Jingle now require their own turkey residence… 😂

🩺 HEALTH & MEDICAL CHECKS – We also have upcoming DEFRA testing and want to make sure any birds we're concerned about have the appropriate health checks beforehand.

With so many animals here, veterinary bills and the everyday cost of running the rescue add up incredibly quickly. We fund their food, bedding, medication, housing, maintenance and veterinary care ourselves, but occasionally everything seems to arrive at once – and this is one of those times.

We don't expect anyone to donate, particularly when we know money is tight for so many people. Even £1, £2 or £5 genuinely helps when lots of people come together.

And if you can't donate, sharing this fundraiser is just as appreciated.

Every penny raised will be used towards the animals and the things we need to keep them safe, healthy and cared for.
