We just want to take a moment to honour one of our wonderful Voices, the powerhouse that is Jeannie, who sadly passed away last week. 

Jeannie joined our Scars of Gold campaign early on and brought the most vibrant, fun, loving energy to the room and to her podcast episode. The photo above is from her filming day, and feels so authentically ‘Jeannie’, a perfect representation of this wonderful woman. 

Jeannie was a force to be reckoned with, who I know brought so much love and laughter into the lives of everyone she met. 
She was a fierce advocate and campaigner for Secondary Cancer, and was part of so many fantastic initiatives, campaigns, and projects - truly dedicated to making changes and supporting others facing life changing conditions.

We send our love and support to Jeannie’s family, friends, and to everyone that loved her - she will be truly missed 🖤

We are delighted to share an exclusive, limited edition print produced by charity founder and award winning artist Dr Liz Murray - produced exclusively for the charity to raise funds for our new support services.

‘Finding Strength’ is a contemporary piece inspired by the Scars of Gold campaign and capturing the essence of what Mortal And Strong stands for - life, colour, strength, hope and always striving to find joy.

This is a mixed media print, with every single print hand finished with real gold leaf and can be personalised to add key words that resonate to you...meaning every single print is unique. No two prints will be the same and each one hand finished by the artist.

Prints come in two sizes and will be sent mounted, hand signed and hand finished with real gold leaf.

There is the additional option for framing.

Limited edition of 300 in total across all sizes.

100% of the cost goes to the charity, and is fundraising to delivery our free support services providing one to one support for people processing the trauma and grief of a new diagnosis, and the courses for people facing life changing or incurable health conditions.

Our Sunshine Support programme is now available to book for the first course beginning January 2026!

We are so proud of the team and grateful to all of you who fundraised to help make this happen. Our Sunshine support programme is the UK’s first and only charity support programme to help people recover from a life changing diagnosis - any diagnosis. Any type of cancer, any type of illness whatsoever.

Designed by our team of medical professionals and qualified life coach Lisa Bennett who has helped produce this increase 10-step programme. With a workbook, online course to do at your pace over 6 weeks guided by our team and with online support groups. The first course Sunrise is now available to book through our website. Entirely free thanks to the donations and fundraising efforts of you.

Here at we have online support group sessions on all of the key Christmas dates - whether you want to just say hi to someone, whether you need support or a listening ear… we will be here.

We’ve had a secret for many months now! During the Scars Of Gold Event in London some of you were surprised and confused to see the exhibition closed for one afternoon - and we are very sorry we couldn’t explain why at the time!
But here is why… we were asked to close because one our lovely and brilliant artist ambassadors has won !!
We are very proud to share the wonderful was a finalist and winner of 2025 Sky Arts Portrait Artist Of The Year which was filming during the time of the exhibition!

Chloe produced three wonderful pieces for our exhibition and a huge part of the SOG campaign. We were honoured and so proud to let her and the team film at our event in London.
Prouder still that Sammy and Liz were invited the POATY attend the unveiling where her final piece of the incredibly talented Hannah Fry was unveiled.

Chloe produced the most stunning piece of Hannah which was unveiled at the as part of a celebration of women in science.

The piece was stunning and we could not have been prouder to see Chloe getting the recognition of the phenomenal artist (and most humble!) that she is and proud to have shared some of the excitement with our charity this year.
