I’ve been feeling so incredibly rough both physically and mentally this past week and it always ends up showing in how I look…. But yesterday I wanted to have that feeling of ‘been the non-I’ll me’ again so I popped some make up on, messed with my hair a bit and there I was feeling a tonne better already.

I know the cost of living is going up massively and make up might not seem essential…. But if you knew how it helped my mental health then you’d see how much good it does!

Do NOT be sucked in by the hype…. A tan might look lush but there really is no safe way to get that natural tan!

Make sure to choose a broad spectrum, sun cream like this one…. Which protects against both UVA & UVB rays….
UVA= ageing = fine lines, wrinkles
UVB= bad = free radicals, cancer causing

Any change to the colour of our skin from the sun is damaging, ageing, wrinkling, causes a loss of elasticity and the worst of all is that the sun is a proven carcinogenic (cancer causing).

I recommend the UR spf50 for everyone but especially those with
💕pale skin tones
💕 sensitive skin
💕 medication that makes you sensitive the sun
💕 previous history of excessive sun burn/tanning
💕 recent tattoos
💕 scars or stretch marks
💕 inflammatory skin conditions

We also have an SPF25, obviously I would always recommend going for the 50 but in these cases you could perhaps opt for the 25.
💕 You never normally react to the sun
💕 You aren’t going to be out in the sun too long / in and out
💕 You have darker skin tone (those with more melanin have a small amount of natural spf anyway)

Shocking isn’t it…. Well actually I guess it’s not because it’s the same or worse in other countries!

In the USA 🇺🇸 over 3/4 of people polled said they are likely to wear sunscreen at the beach 🏝 or a pool…. But less than 1/2 of people polled said they would be likely to wear sunscreen when gardening 👩🏻‍🌾 or working outside on their homes.

Did you know that most sun protection products are toxic to our oceans and the creatures that live in them? ☠️

Now I don’t know about you…. But I believe that if you want to enjoy the oceans, then you should look after them too. Which is why the sun cream I use and recommend (and actually all of our products that could end up going down your plug hole) are actually rigorously toxin screened to ensure we’re not harming ANY of Mother Nature. 🌍 ❤️

If I could offer you only one tip for the future, sunscreen would be it
A long-term benefits of sunscreen have been proved by scientists. And sung about in cult classics….. there’s all the rest of skincare but without sunscreen it don’t mean sh*t.
