It’s been lovely watching the building gently shift this week. Lisa Jane has made huge progress on her home salon — plastered, painted, flooring down, and her old space getting sparser as bits are sold on. Clients have been popping in to say their last goodbyes to 18 years at L&L Hair Design, all excited to see her new chapter (and asking about Robbie, of course).
And upstairs, Olganna Sew & Create has been moving the last bits from home into the new space while juggling final classes at Downey House. Helen’s been deep in colour matching with the sign people — green is proving to be a challenge — and new chairs and table legs keep arriving.
It’s lovely seeing both businesses quietly preparing for early autumn.

We had an absolute belter of a storm on Thursday night - honestly never seen or heard anything like it! ⛈️

Thankfully, the weather’s been pretty kind to us on the whole, and the sun is shining today, so I’m sat here with a brew, enjoying my book☀️☕️📖

I know I’m supposed to be relaxing but the weather is rubbish today so I’m currently working on updating my price lists, whilst also battling with Facebook to get my name changed to Elora Beauty. Who’d of thought it would be so difficult 🤷‍♀️
Anyway I’ve had to settle for Elora Nails and Beauty for now but hopefully I’ll work it out 🙏

Off to our caravan today for a much‑needed breather, and it feels good to step back while my new Elora Beauty branding is being finalised.
Helen’s holding the fort surrounded by colour swatches and table legs, and Lisa’s off enjoying her holiday too — the building must feel very peaceful without us both there.
It’s nice knowing everything is moving gently forward while I’m away. The next couple of months are going to bring such a lovely fresh start for all three of us.
For now, I’m resting, recharging, and getting excited to come back to my new name.

Lots of changes happening around here, and I’m excited to share mine.

I’m rebranding to Elora Beauty - same treatments, same care, just a new name and a fresh look that feels right for where I’m heading.

I’ve only been in the building a year, but it already feels like home. I’ve watched Helen grow her sewing business from the upstairs room into a full studio, and now she’s taking over the whole ground floor with Olganna Sew & Create. It’s been amazing seeing it evolve. And Lisa, who’s been here for 18 years 😲, is moving her salon home, creating a new brand Lisa Jane (L&L Hair Design) and a lovely, personal space for her clients. It’s a big shift for her, and she’s stepping into it with so much experience.

Just a quick update 💕
As some of you may know, I’ve been looking for a new place to work from as L&L Hair & Beauty is moving on to pastures new. But in a little plot twist Olganna is taking over the salon space, which is great news for me …. I get to stay where I am!! 🙌

However, things are changing a little bit and I’m saying goodbye to Amara Nails & Beauty, and hello to my new business name, Elora Beauty ✨

I’ll still be offering all the same treatments you know and love, but I just felt like a little change would be good and a new name felt right.

Elora has been created from the names of my grandparents, Elsie and Flo, and my own name, all combined together. I really wanted something that felt a bit more personal to me and had a special meaning behind it.

I hope you all love the new name as much as I do! I’ll be renaming my Facebook and Instagram pages soon so please keep following me 💕✨
